I've been wanting to check this one off the list for a while. With Larry Clark being one of my favorite directors, this was an early one in his filmography. Now, this was a weird one for me. There were certain aspects that I was expecting that didn't really make sense for me. In this episode I worked out the bias I was going into the film with, and explain the concept of a 'that guy' in movies and tv.
Off-topic rants include: Twin Peaks and David Lynch, my very lonnggg current watch queue, The Big Hit, and movies of 1998

I just saw this for the first time about two weeks ago in the theater (so 80s) thanks to Charles. He told me we just had to cover this for the pod and I'm so glad he did. If I didn't already have a crush on Bruce from 'The Fifth Element' , I now am obsessed with John McLean.
This film was an 80s corporate office porn dream along with the amazing fashion! It was a thrill ride from start to finish and I'm officially adding it to my yearly holiday watch.
Off-topic rants include: stylish 80s fashion, corporate office culture, the honest logistics of planning ANY of this

This is one of those 90s movies that really shouldn't have been made. Lucky for you that it was so bad that we still ended up having plenty to say about it. Mikey had the unfortunate experience of seeing this in the theater, but in 1997 we were really spoiled for choice at the cinema each week. It wouldn't be a true exploration of 90s movies if we didn't talk about the duds from time to time.
While I wasn't a fan of this hack job of a script that wasted some talented actors, we at least got a good soundtrack. If you watched that BUSH music video for "Mouth" you basically saw the movie. We talk about how Julie Delpy only did the film to pay for her rent, the awkward performance of Tom Everett Scott, and how Julie Bowen had the best part in the entire film. Also, we read some funny Letterboxd reviews.
Off-topic rants include: Angelina Jolie & Billy Bob Thornton, Gladiator, Tom Cruise movies

As I've mentioned before on the show, I'm reality tv obsessed. I'm fully versed in the Bravo world and it was such a joy to talk to another Bravo fan!
Enter in Stephen from Creek Talk Podcast. We talked in the past about our love of the different cities so it was time that we do an episode on the current seasons! Enjoy this 2+ hour kick back where we check in with the women of Orange County, give our thoughts on the new Bev Hills trailer, what we think of the NY season so far, why Salt Lake City is #1, and wrap up with Potomac.

If you can believe it, this is my first watch of this cult classic. I somehow managed to never see it until now and I'm obsessed. Of course Mikey is along to talk one of his comfort films and his immense history with this gem. It works for the October season and this also reminds me of The Substance, I've recently seen. Other points are this amazing wardrobe and the magic of Meryl, Goldie, and hottie Bruce Willis.
Off-topics rants include: why this movie is so RHOBH coded, Tales From the Crypt, and why Meryl Street needs to be a 'final girl' in a horror movie

Finally, it's time for a good old fashion chat where me and Jai talk our favorites from this past 'fashion month' aka. the Spring/Summer 2025 collections. We break it down by city, get into our disappointments this season, confusing collections, and wrap up with some recent fashion topics.

It's movies like this that make me love the 90s. The ability to make multi genre horror thrillers with a domestic medical drama and demon afterlife subplot is unmatched. I was searching for something to review in October and this has been on my list forever, mostly for the stacked cast. I went in knowing nothing and this was nothing short of a wild ride.
I mean Jeff Goldblum as the dad and Alicia Silverstone as the bratty daughter should be reason alone for you to see this. Within the first half of the movie we have demon possession, chunky sweaters, a car accident, and a Pearl Jam reference. Again we have the Pacific Northwest as a backdrop cause (duh, its the 90s) and a very weird and unexplainable Jeremy Sisto.
Off-topic rants include: Buffy parallels and Alicia Silverstone being THAT girl in the 90s

Yes, this is our last foray into the 'Dark Side of the 90s' Vice series.
In keeping with the total and complete theme of FG itself, we just had to talk more about the birth of the Seattle sound and Sub-Pop records. This episode focuses more on the independent label scene and just how corporations really tried to ruin everything.
At least there is a silver lining in the fact that Sub-Pop is still kicking as a label and has become a cultural touchstone to the city of Seattle.
This episode talks to Bruce Pavitt (Sub-Pop co-founder), Charles Peterson (photographer), and others to get a more complete picture.

Ahh another one of those random movies that you never hear about that I own on DVD. I have such a vivid memory of watching this in the theater, basically because I was obsessed with the two actors, Ryan Gosling and Michael Pitt.
Even though it's not a holiday movie like at all, I enlisted Mikey to take a walk down the seedy roads of early 00s forensic true crime-ish films. We talk about how the thin script is really made up by the acting, Michael Pitt being amazing, and all the sexual tension between every character. We also touch on this being the film that brought us Sandra Bullock and Ryan Gosling as a couple for over a year.
