Fastbreak Breakfast NBA Podcast

Outside of the Knicks, Thunder and Spurs, are there any NBA teams that should be contenders? Could the 76ers, Timberwolves, Pistons or Rockets or anyone else become the 9th different champion in the last 9 years?

And which teams are abjectly terrible with little upward potential?

On this episode, Keith and Dave try and sort all 30 NBA teams into tiers based on how good they are, how much variance they have, plus they react to highlights and news from the first week of the NBA preseason.

The NBA dropped the largest punishment in league history on Steve Ballmer and the LA Clippers by fining them and taking away five 1st round picks after determining that they did, in fact, repeatedly circumvent the salary cap.

The league's report includes some stunning details and and Adam Silver's punishment has surprised many observers (also apparently including the Clippers), with how severe it is.

On this episode of Fastbreak Breakfast, Keith and Dave react all of this news and offer their opinions on the situation, plus preview the Pacific Division, and discuss the roster situations of the Clippers, Lakers, Kings, Suns and Warriors.

The Milwauke Bucks re-signed Gary Trent Jr to a shocking, above market deal despite being in a rebuild and Trent coming off a career-worst season that saw him fall out of the rotation. This news broke during NBA Summer League, where it became a hotly discussed topic for both its brazenness in breaking the NBA's salary rules, and for the wonder that if in the wake of the Kawhi Leonard/Aspiration investigation, Adam Silver would do anything about it.

This episode discusses the shady Trent deal, the latest news about Kawhi Leonard and the trade that's been put on hold, plus goes over Summer League observations from Keith and Dave, who were together in Las Vegas for five days and have opinions on AJ Dybantsa, Cameron Boozer, Darryn Peterson, Caleb Wilson, Brayden Burries, Koa Peat, Keaton Wagler, Darius Acuff, Aday Mara, and more!

Plus: some very special Drake Powell stats!
