As we continue along with our life of a Jew series, we’re talking marriage today. Why we get married (why, oh, why?), why Jewish men gave up polygamy, what the marriage rituals are, what a Jewish bride and a rental car have in common, and so much more.
For the parsha portion, we finally get into talking about THE man. The Michael Jordon of Monotheism, the Shakespeare of Hashem, the Albert Einstein of Adonai…of course I’m talking about Abraham. But before he was Abraham, he was Abram, so we’ll start there.
Why was he the one G-d chosen to received G-d’s covenant, why is the only thing we know about him and his wife, Sarai, was that she couldn’t have children, and why should we bother trusting in G-d?
This week’s parsha: Genesis 11:10 - 12:3
