When it comes to our economy and market dynamics, Canadians have walked off their map these past months.
Here are a few examples:
▪ Canadian house prices are at an all time high
▪ Analysts are predicting continued housing price increases
▪ Record inflation has driven prices up on all essential items
▪ Gas has almost doubled in some provinces
▪ In April a new carbon tax comes into effect
▪ Employers are paying more in taxes, making it harder to give raises to their employees
The federal debt is now over a trillion and has doubled since 2020. This will likely mean higher taxes in the years ahead, possibly driving many more Canadians below the poverty line.
At times like this how do Canadians manage their daily expenses, and how do they prepare for the future?
Joining me to discuss is Jonathan Lewis.
Jonathan is president of Eastport Financial Group and an accomplished financial advisor, author, philanthropist and entrepreneur.
We hope you appreciate these programs.

This week’s show is a “special” featuring clips from a recent online prayer meeting we had for Canada. The intro also features the recent poem that I posted called I Can’t Sleep - Reflections The Night The Police Clashed With Protesters.
Next week we will be back at it, speaking to issues shaping our nation, I promise. Given all we have been through these past weeks, it felt only right to dedicate this week’s show to prayer.

There are so many important topics that have been rising in the hearts of Canadians: our economy, dramatic inflation, an increase in gas prices, along with more taxes coming down the pike, and the overall function of our democratic institutions.
Doug Sharpe from the National Leadership Briefing and Franco Terrazzano from the Canadian Taxpayers Federation joined us to discuss what else we can expect this parliamentary session.
[IMPORTANT NOTICE: This show was filmed prior to the invoking of the Emergencies Act and therefore it is not covered in the conversation.]

The Hon. Stockwell Day was in Parliament during 9/11 and also served as Minister of Public Safety under Prime Minister Harper. He is also a student of history.
He joined me to talk about the significance and implication of the Emergency Measures Act that was invoked this time yesterday.

All around us in society there is the opportunity for division and offence - whether speaking of the lockdowns, pastors being arrested, vaccines, racial tensions, political tensions, women's issues...and more.
On this show Pastor Matt Tapley from Lakemount Worship Centre and I speak to the elephant in the room and discuss how we can navigate the times we are in.

On the weekend of Jan. 22nd, 2022, a group of truckers pulled out of British Columbia on a journey across Canada to bring a message to our federal leaders in Ottawa. They are asking the government to drop the vaccine and lockdown mandates.
The initially small group rapidly grew into a convoy of thousands of trucks from all over Canada. It has gained international attention.
It is the Freedom Convoy 2022.
In the last weeks the convoy has inspired hopes of Canadians nationwide.
Others have pegged the movement as racist, anti-Semitic and even terrorist.
Because of the conflicting reports, we wanted to go right to the source and hear from people on the ground about what they are seeing and experiencing.
This week’s show is a montage of interviews we did during the first week of the convoy.
Thanks for joining with us.

Over the last 2 years our nation has seen a very large surge in the formation of advocacy groups, responding to various aspects of both provincial and federal governments’ management methods for COVID-19.
Today we’re joined by leaders of 3 such organizations. Nadine Ness is the founder of Unified Grassroots, a Prairie-based nonprofit seeking to unify Canadians to protect the values that have made this nation great.
Clay Farnsworth is from Police on Guard, a group representing retired and active police officers working to uphold the Constitution of Canada to protect the public and work to restore public trust. And thirdly, Barry Bussey from First Freedoms, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing freedom for all Canadians through advocacy and courtroom litigation. I know they will all have strong insight to bring to the table at this time.

Joining us this week is MPP Roman Baber and MP Dean Allison to discuss how the government has been managing this past wave of COVID-19.
- - - - - - - - -
Canada is heading into its third year of Covid-19 management, with some provinces currently experiencing record cases of infections of the Omicron variant. Over the last few weeks, some provinces have also reimplemented extreme lockdown measures, such as cancelling in-person schooling, and limiting business activities. Add to these elements, the recent talk of taxing the unvaccinated that was initiated by the province of Quebec, and then the federal government’s move to limit our supply chains by disallowing unvaccinated truck drivers to cross the border from the USA, there is much to talk about.
Two elected voices bringing compassionate and pragmatic questions to the conversation are MP Dean Allison and MPP Roman Baber.
MP Dean Allison has served in many important roles in parliament over the last 18 years, including chair of public accounts, vice chair of International Trade and Foreign Affairs, and International Developments. MPP Roman Baber currently represents York Centre as an independent elected official and has become a highly regarded voice in this conversation with a growing social media following.

This is part two of our discussion with The Hon. Preston Manning.
In part one we talked about his personal journey into political service, western alienation in Canada and the story of the Reform Party of Canada which became Canada's modern Conservative Party.
This week we’re picking up the conversation. In this interview we talk about environmental policy, wealth creation, the federal deficit and debt, the future of politics in Canada, and what the average Canadian can do to make a real, tangible difference.
