"I am the good shepherd; I am the true king, and I come to give you life abundant and full." What John shows us this morning in John 10 is that Jesus alone cares for the well-being of His people and He alone brings that well being about.

Am I doing this because it gives me this tingly feeling inside or did God really call me to this?

All humanity is born into spiritual blindness, preventing us from knowing God and His world rightly. Only by receiving His divine and supernatural light may we respond in faith and surrender and new life in Jesus.

To be a child of God and follower of Jesus requires us to be actively living out that identity with other Christians in the world around us, calling people without conduct and our words into a walk with Jesus alongside us.

We must understand that Jesus is the fulfillment of the Godhead’s ancient promise to redeem His people and fill all Creation with His glory. We must understand this truth and respond with faith and allegiance to Jesus.

Generally speaking, many Christians today associate biblical stewardship with sermons about church budgets, building programs, and/or needing money for this or that But biblical stewardship is something much more encompassing and expansive.

In each little sequence we are seeing this argument, almost, get more and more tense and heated, and it will continue to do so in our passage this morning as we see, essentially, that All people are born into slavery to sin, in bondage to evil and the evil one. Only Jesus can show us the truth of our situation and grant us freedom.

What John shows us in John 8 is that Though all the world is blinded by their sinful condition and rebellion against God, which prevents them from rightly knowing God, only in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus can God be known and His world rightly understood.
