Justin Kang, our guest today, taught me that these feelings are incredibly pervasive throughout underrepresented communities because we are just that — underrepresented.
Though the climate is changing, there are still systemic and structural barriers that reject otherwise talented and creative people from pursuing their dreams. And one significant sector that’s trailblazing change? Venture capitalism.

For me, venture capitalism always seemed like such an intimidating world. Thankfully, now that I’m a mentor with the Founder Institute, triple digit million dollar revenue has become part of my normal vocabulary.
That’s why I’m excited you’re tuning into our conversation because Justin and I will talk about what VC means, how it's changing representation for the better, what Visible Hands and similar investing companies are doing to empower people of color to become entrepreneurs, and the importance of being vulnerable, real, and transparent about the struggles entrepreneurs face.

I almost can't believe it, but we have our very first non-AAPI voice on the podcast today. And I can't imagine anyone else to debut than the extraordinary Nathalie Molina Niño.

You could probably easily name things Nathalie isn't involved in rather than the opposite, because she has integrated herself into almost every sector you could possibly imagine when it comes to amplifying BIPOC voices.

From learning storytelling through theater, working as a global tech entrepreneur, becoming a published author and educator, and now investing to open opportunities for BIPOC folks to achieve positions of ownership.

As part of her work as a champion of women, communities of color and the planet, she also co-founded the trade organization for Builder Capitalism, a long-view, alternative asset class to Venture Capital.
