You shouldn’t be here illegally, and we shouldn’t give amnesty to those who are here illegally. The media is clueless. It’s not just about the Russians or the Clinton Foundation. The US government has re-opened for the business of mortgaging our kids’ future. Nothing got done. Both parties just tee’d up a mid-term campaign issue. This is no legislative victory.  

This shutdown isn’t about fiscal responsibility, or the troops, or children… it’s about immigration. That’s the issue at hand. Part of the deal to reopen the government is a promise by Republicans to give Dems a vote on extending DACA. Joe doubts any of that will have anything to do with a wall. The American public is poorly informed. If you just watch Fox, you’re not getting the whole story. If you just watch CNN, you’re not getting the whole story. If you just watch MSNBC…..you’re a lemming. Joe wants to replace congress with 535 every-day law abiding citizens. What say you?

The government will “shut down” tonight at midnight, but it never shuts down. We could never be so lucky. Government workers will get a paid vacation, congress will beat the drum of left vs right politics, and a (crappy) deal will get worked out before long. One thing remains true through it all- nothing they do will help you.

The government might shut down tomorrow. That might not be a bad thing.  Our founding fathers would be appalled at the size and scope of the federal government today. The government will shut down by the end of the week if the DC political elites don’t agree on what to do about DACA and the illegal “Dreamers”.  Repubs have always been scared to let that happen, but maybe things will be different now that Trump is in office. POTUS, and others who were in the meeting, have failed to address the claims about Trump using racist vulgarity to refer to Haiti and African countries. Support police officers. The fate of DACA could be decided by the end of the week. If Obama could enact DACA through executive order, then Trump should be able to recind it the same way.
