Featured Anime Podcast

This week was a choice by Jack and while it was labeled as a horror it is not really horror in a scary aspect but rather gruesome in how people were being killed. But even with that the background stories of most of the main characters are pretty messed up and sad. But when the series is all said and done it leaves one hell of an open ending and on top of that you look back at the pure ludicrousness of it all and just cannot help but laugh.

Next week's choice is a series called Corpse Party. Have you seen next week's choice or one of the previous ones? Let us know what you thought of them or give us a recommendation on what we should watch next!

This week's choice was given to us on Twitter by @Tobiyashi067. It was a good revisit for Jack and Rick thought it was pretty good too. Even with the open ending, it was still a good watch in prep for season 2 coming out in January 20212. That all being said, this show does not waste time hooking you and making you sit on the edge of your seat. It is also one of the few shows that show you the dangers and what is happening right up front leaving nothing to your imagination. But do not worry it's not one that takes away from the enjoyment of the show and instead, it just gets progressively worse for the protagonists. The animation style is also something that we both found enjoyable especially when it comes to the characters to help convey the emotion then you couple all that with some great music then you are all set for a thrill of a show that will leave you wanting season 2.

Next week's choice is a series called Elfen Lied. Have you seen next week's choice or one of the previous ones? Let us know what you thought of them or give us a recommendation on what we should watch next!

This week's choice was a good revisit for Jack and a good one that made Rick watch it twice. Following the main protag Mima and her journey through becoming a TV star from a Pop-Idol at least that is what you are lead to think at first, but then things take a twist with her manager Rumi pretending to be Mami and eventually thinking that she is Mami and killing everyone that is portraying her in a way that Rumi does not like. It even causes Mami to question her whole outlook and leaves you on the edge until it gives you a satisfactory end. And while watching it for the first run-through may make you miss a few things watching it a second time through will really bring it all together.

Next week's choice came from Twitter and they suggested that we watch The Promised Neverland, so that is what we are doing. Have you seen next week's choice or one of the previous ones? Let us know what you thought of them or give us a recommendation on what we should watch next!

This week as talked about season 2 of Ajin, and honestly, for both of us, it was lacking. The story carried the poor animation, again and it certainly did answer some questions, but it left us with more or made us feel empty due to the lack of resolution from both questions being answered, and how it ended. With that, if you ventured into watching season 1 then you might as well give season 2 a watch to finish it up, and maybe in another 6 years, we will get a season 3.

Next week's choice is the movie Perfect Blue. Have you seen next week's choice or one of the previous ones? Let us know what you thought of them or give us a recommendation on what we should watch next!

The animation was bad but the story was really good. Rick loved the story and could not stop saying good things about it. Jack, on the other hand, had some issues with the story and hated the animation but enjoyed the overall nonetheless. Luckily there is a season 2 so that does bump it up for us but not by much.

Next week's choice is season 2 of Ajin: Demi-Human. Have you seen next week's choice or one of the previous ones? Let us know what you thought of them or give us a recommendation on what we should watch next!

What a great choice for this week. It is something that both of us really enjoyed. It had clean animation, book ends, and a confusing story, what more could you want? It is a short movie but it is one that you need to pay attention to or you will miss something, especially with how it starts off and the progression of the end. It also makes you think and look differently at your dreams it is well worth the watch.

Next week's choice came via e-Mail and they suggested that we watch Ajin: Demi-Human so that is what we are doing. Have you seen next week's choice or one of the previous ones? Let us know what you thought of them or give us a recommendation on what we should watch next!

What a choice this week was. It had bad voice acting and dialog a story that was just bad and an ending that left you scratching your head. But at least it was an ending. They also had some funky music going on throughout the show to accompany the bad acting. A good thing about it though they did make you hate the main bad guy which was a plus even with the bad acting and dialog.

Next week's choice is a movie called Paprika. Have you seen next week's choice or one of the previous ones? Let us know what you thought of them or give us a recommendation on what we should watch next!

This week's choice was an interesting one in that this one was a favorite of Rick and a disappointment for Jack. There was enough plot armor in this show to kill a whale. And some of it didn't even make sense. But with that being said it did have a beginning and an ending and the art was good. Where Jack and Rick differ is their view on the story and plot. Regardless they are able to laugh about it and have fun. And it is at least worth at least 1 watch for you to make a choice about it. That being said we challenge you to find more plot armor that we didn't talk about on the show and let us know about it. All the Contact info is below so come join us in discord and talk about all things anime and ever else.

Next week's choice is a series called Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom. Have you seen next week's choice or one of the previous ones? Let us know what you thought of them or give us a recommendation on what we should watch next!

With these would-be movies being so short they should have been combined into one especially since they could have been easily written to play off of each other. With that being said the movies were good but Memory snow is basically the equivalent to a beach episode and the Frozen Bond is the prequel that felt like it was just there to try and make you feel for Emilia and also gives you a bit of the background between Puck and Emilia. But overall the stories for both of them were lackluster. Additionally, since they are both so short and they do play off of each other a little it is best to watch them back to back basically as 1 movie thus we give it a rating as 1 movie.

Next week's choice is a series called Charlotte. Have you seen next week's choice or one of the previous ones? Let us know what you thought of them or give us a recommendation on what we should watch next!

Scored together since we felt they need to be seen together.

Jack's score: 5 / 10

Rick's score: 5 / 10

This week's choice causes us to have a love-hate relationship with you sitting on the throne. But overall it still was a good show that had some good music playing in the background. We also took a stab at trying to convey the frustrations that Subaru felt. And to just wrap it all up in a nice wide-open ending. Luckily there is a season 2.

Next week's choice is a movie called Re: ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- The Frozen Bond. Have you seen next week's choice or one of the previous ones? Let us know what you thought of them or give us a recommendation on what we should watch next!
