The thing about waiting is that we aren't always very good at it, especially this time of year. Waiting, however, has some amazing potential when engaged with awareness and intentionality. Let's learn to wait and experience the blessings that can come with waiting as we approach the coming of our Lord!

Many of Jesus' teachings, interactions, and settings for teachings took place around the table. What might appear to be an ordinary thing is turned into a symbol of some vital aspects of life and becomes the place where we practice what we are meant to live and experience everywhere.

What if there are no ordinary activities? Is worship confined to particular times, places, and activities, or can God be experienced and praised in all times and places? We explore these questions and the amazing invitation they lead to through the lens of a number of passages beginning with Jesus interaction with a Samaritan woman in John 4 and the importance of the temple in the Old Testament and the new temple God is building in the New Testament.

In this sermon, we wrap up the "Nothing Will Be Impossible for Them" series in Galatians 3. Paul says "there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." We discuss that this statement means that everyone is now equal and that nothing can ever place one person above another but it also does not mean that everyone is now the same and diversity disappears. We talk about the sweet spot he is trying to arrive at and what this means for our lives and the Church today.

In this sermon we look at the genealogy found in Genesis chapter 10 called the Table of Nations. We dive into one segment of this genealogy and the fact that a majority of the enemies of Israel stem from one person! We look at why this generational cycle occurred and ask the question of whether or not it had to happen this way. It turns out that knowing the whole story is really important and that generational and cultural cycles don't have to last forever. There is a different story we are all invited into. The question is if we know this story and if we are willing to invite others into it as well.

In this sermon, we look at the stories of Rahab and Achan in Joshua and how the reversals that take place in these two stories would have been shocking to the original audience. We dive into the important point these stories are trying to make and what this means for our lives today, especially through the meaning of the Hebrew word Hesed and the example shown to us by Jesus. Ultimately, we are called to discover, extend, and invite Hesed in everyone we meet.
