Many times God delays things in our lives to drive us to Him as we see with Jesus' timing in returning to raise Lazaurs. Jesus is moved by the death of Lazarus and weeps. He is also moved by the things we suffer in this world. -We see Mary and Martha. Mary waiting. Martha eagerly addressing Jesus with not coming sooner. Martha was missing that the Lord was already here. Jesus said to Martha, -I am the resurrection and the life.--The Lord has greater things in store for us.

We neglect teaching the word and law to our children and grandchildren. When we neglect this, the next generation forgets. The family is under attack, marriage is under attach. The Word is neglected and the attacks of the modern culture are subtle. -Too many have given up the education of their children to the public school system. We are responsible for the moral education of our children.

Is there life after death- Jesus tells us yes in this Parable of rewards and consequences. -Just because you suffer -or are poor, or anything else- does not mean you will be saved. -Lazarus received his reward and the rich man his.

Paul shows us why the gospel is necessary for our sin. We are to never look to ourselves for salvation--only to Christ. Why would we put life all on ourselves when we have Christ. We have a responsibility to live for Christ in three ways- through mercy, reasonable service and renewal of our minds. We have been made new creatures of God by His mercy. We are to present our bodies as a living sacrifice through a broken and humble spirit. Our minds are to be transformed -changed into-. We are to have head and HEART knowledge.

Psalm 20 is a song for the King sung before battle. We are in a battle of cultures today. Our culture has changed around us, wickedness and evil are no longer veiled. Abortion is accepted by many as normal. Even the church is burdened with the sins of our culture. God is visible even in our dark culture.-Augustine gives us 3 principles of Christian life--1 humility-2 humility-3 humility-Humility comes from broken hearts. is your heart broken before God- Our graves are waiting for us--does that humble you--

Jacob is human, he is deceitful, and steals his brothers birthright. He returns years later, fearful for his life. As he spends the night alone, an angel comes down and wrestles with him all night.-Jacob receives a new name, his brother forgives him- God has saved.-All men need salvation, all men need to be accountable. The Lord disciplines all those He loves.-a

We see in the scriptures many exchanges by mankind.-1. Man exchanged the glory of God for images.-2. Man exchanged the truth of God for a lie through worshiping the created things rather than the Creator.-4. Man exchanged natural affections for the unnatural therefore worshiping the creature.-5. The exchange of Christ on the cross as a substitute for us.-6. Righteousness was exchanged for our sin.-7. Receiving of the benefits of the work of the holy spirit with faith and repentance in our hearts for belief in the Lord.

Habakkuk's complant, God's answer and Habakkuk's understanding of God's justice. -The righteous shall live by faith

Paul reminds Timothy the importance of God's nature. A true knowledge of Christ should be our highest aim.-In today's world, man wants to take credit for themselves. They make every effort to remove God from their lives.-In Timothy we learn that God's Word is God-breathed. God preserves his truth and we are to remain faithful to Christ.
