In response to our last mini-series on toxic masculinity, we heard from our audience that there seemed to be some looming questions about why women might be unfair, harsh, judgment, or generally terrible to other women.  We interviewed women in our communities and learned a lot about what it's like for them in the work place and how unsettling it is when women treat other women like shit.  We break down what we believe is happening in these dynamics and how to heal them.

We are on a roll when it comes to this topic! In this mini-series, we've talked about what toxic masculinity is by definition, the way it plays out in women's lives, and now we are discussing how it can escalate very quickly into the rape culture that we find all over the world.  Erin talks through the legitimacy of old excuses we've made for violence against women and Quincee shares research on sex, consent, and why this is important to talk through as a community.   

We work to create a meaningful understanding of toxic masculinity that gives women language to advocate for themselves, see power dynamics that play out in their lives, and find ways to continue having conversations within their relationships and communities. 

As a follow-up to our last episode on toxic masculinity, we went into our communities and asked women what their experiences were in every day life.  The hosts look at research and psych literature to better understand the clinical definition and impact this has on culture as a whole. We recount the day in the life of one host and how many instances of toxic masculinity she encountered.  We tackle dating and singlehood and how these topics are broached. 

We have our first male guest on the show! Justin Jarel shows up with vulnerability, compassion, and a no-nonsense approach to understanding toxic masculinity.  He speaks honestly about his role in upholding toxic masculine roles and shares about how he evaluates himself and his relationships on a daily basis.  The hosts asks tough questions about how to change the system of power that upholds archaic and unhelpful roles between men and women.
