Thomas and Grace are back for the first offseason episode of Top of the Key, but there's still plenty to discuss. First, a short bit on Teresa Weatherspoon's introduction as the Head Coach of the Chicago Sky. They're excited for T-Spoon, excited for the future of the Sky, and excited to see what she can do with Kahleah Copper especially.

Then, they get into the Nate Tibbetts disaster-class on how not to talk at a press conference. They're generally baffled by his main comments about the league, though Grace comes up with the most generous reading of what he said and it makes a tiny bit more sense. Still, you'd think someone as qualified as a "girl dad" could have the right words to say at a press conference he knew was coming.

Finally, Grace and Thomas get into the upcoming 2024 draft class. With Azzi Fudd officially staying at UConn, and Angel Reese hinting at using her bonus COVID year and staying at LSU, the next draft is looking a little weaker. And that helps the WNBPA in the upcoming CBA negotiations, as clearly players would rather make more at college than take a pay cut to not even be guaranteed a spot on a WNBA team for less than $75,000.

Grace and Thomas are back, finally, a little over a week after the WNBA Finals ended, an end they were unfortunately witness to. They break down the game, what went right for Las Vegas and what went so, so wrong for the Liberty. They don't spend too much time on it, though, because who wants to relive that bizarre game of basketball?

Instead, they get into the mess of the following few days. Sabrina Ionescu is a deeply divided character in the league, Kelsey Plum phrased a point poorly, which led to even more beef between these two rivals. And there's even some critique of how the media covers the WNBA, and how it's up to both the players and the reporters to right these wrongs as the league continues to grow exponentially.

Finally, they look ahead a bit at the futures of the two teams, and what they might try to do in the offseason to improve themselves for 2024. And they also look at their own futures, as it's only five episodes in and they already have to find non-game things to talk about.

Grace and Thomas are back after some Finals back-and-forth! Game 2 was a doozy, with the Liberty looking foolish and the Aces looking unstoppable. Then, Game 3 happened and the Liberty came out hungry, getting a big win to stave off elimination. An injury and a change of plans for both teams makes the forthcoming games a lot more interesting.

After Finals chat, Grace breaks some Phoenix Mercury news and she and Thomas discuss how coaching hires in the W signal a change in the way the league is viewed from prospective employees. And a discussion on the All-WNBA Teams leads into a chat about how wacky the league can be and how fun that is, as well as a good illustration of the league's relative youth to other (men's) sport leagues.

Finally, Grace and Thomas preview the end of the Finals, and talk about how a Gray injury can change the calculus going forward. And Grace puts to bed any discussion of a Candace Parker return (as well as exposes herself for not watching the Fast and Furious movies).

In their first segment they discuss the two semifinals series that finished this past week, what surprised them, what excited them, and what made them want to pull their hair out.

They then move to a discussion of the recent MVP award and its three main contenders. They also showcase some very…interesting voting choices, and discuss the way MVP votes tend to not be focused on pure statistical best, rather the narrative behind the players.

Finally, they preview the upcoming WNBA Finals series, predict who will win in how many games, and who will be the most important players in the series. Plus a little tangent into the weird scheduling of the Finals!
