Fiction Fixation

Do you know what we didn't need in 2020? A super creepy psychological thriller about being trapped at home. But that's what we got with our film this week. Courtney and Rose get wrapped up in their dark but hilarious recap of the 2020 psychological thriller "Run," where overprotective mothering meets its sinister apex. Dive deep into a labyrinth of paranoia, dark secrets, and questionable prescriptions. As they dissect this claustrophobic thriller, expect biting wit, razor-sharp takes, and an edgy dive into every twisted revelation.

Fiction Fixation is now out every FRIDAY! End your week right~

We watched it so you don't have to--This week we recap the movie adaptation of The Mortal Instruments, City of Bones. Based on a 400 pg book, this movie squeezes everything thing it can't onto the screen, leaving poor Rose confused and by the end wishing she had a Time Machine to unlatch the whole damn thing. Hope you enjoy our hilarious recap!

This week we recap the movie "The Woman in the Window" based on the bestselling novel by the same name. Listen, we are going to warn you up front that dark humor is our bread and butter and we are carb lushes. We turn this seriously effed-up psychological thriller into a comedy goldmine. Because if we can't laugh, we will cry. Buckle up for a world where curtains are not a thing and your therapist watches (and judges) your every move.

Spooky season is here, because Courtney decided. This week, we dissect the eerie high-waisted horrors of the movie "Don't Worry Darling." We unravel the twisted threads of 1950s domestic "bliss" while diving into a rabbit hole of paranoia, right alongside Florence Pugh. Come for the mystery, stay for the sarcastic musings. Remember, normal is just a setting on the dryer.

Join us this week as we  navigate the twisty tracks of "The Girl on the Train." We'll spill the tea (or should we say 'martini'?) on Rachel's blurry memories, questionable neighborhood watch tactics, and the messiest commutes in cinematic history. Warning: This episode may induce sudden bursts of laughter and a strong desire to never look out of a train window again. Nosy passengers just don't make good detectives... or do they?

Brace yourselves for a no-holds-barred recap of the millennial classic Legally Blonde. It's a film that holds up surprisingly well to our cold unforgiving eyes. We have a blast appreciating the audacity of a middle aged white man wrapped in a Reese Witherspoons facade. Elle Woods is the heroine we wish we could be. Whetaher you're a die-hard fan or revisiting the film, join us for a fun and laughter-filled recap that celebrates the charm of "Legally Blonde" in all its glory.

In This bonus episode, we pop into your feed to explain why the stars conspired to erase our thoughtfully recorded episode for the week. See you next time!

Pop a chill pill and tune in to this week's episode of Fiction Fixation! We're diving headfirst into the pharma-fueled romantic whirlpool that is 'Love and Other Drugs'. Yes, despite our all too well known beef with Jake Gyllenhaal (T-Swift, we got your back girl!) we are one of his early 2000s movies. It's a good one, full of interesting insights that we bomb with our inappropriately timed dark jokes. You know you want to listen.

Welcome back to Fiction Fixation! This week we recap the 2006 film 'Georgia Rule.' With a 1 rating on Rotten Tomatoes and staring Lindsay Lohan, we expected a breezy watch. Boy were we wrong... and although the story gets heavy and awkward – the unexpected depth didn't dampen our penchant for dark humor. And laugh we do. Tune in for an episode that is equal parts hilarious, touching, and enlightening.

Remember, in the world of Fiction Fixation, no story is safe from the hilarious scrutiny.

What happens when your husband crashes your engagement party???

This week we recap the movie One True Loves, based on the book by the same name. Rose is beside herself, having finally felt something akin to life stirring deep within the dark pits of her soul. Courtney loads her cynicism and sharp-wit tongue. THIS EPISODE IS AWESOME. Join us for a hilarious, insightful, and sometimes ridiculous recap of a story of TWO true loves--one who comes back from the dead. What IS love, anyway? And how do we know if it's going to last? These are deep questions we don't answer in this episode, but we do answer much more ridiculous questions you would never ask outloud.
