Fiction Fixation

This episode we recap the novel Seduction and Snacks by Tara Sivec. We get saucy in this one and drop a few more fbombs than we normally do-- might not be an episode for the faint of heart. Although, to be fair, the things that come out of our mouths are pretty tame compared to what's in the book!

Fiction fixation is a commentary podcast perfectly suited for lovers of fiction. It's meant to be light entertainment to anyone who has a love of romantic movies and novels (all sub-genres), improv comedy, reading books, binge watching movies, or just listening to two good friends banter and laugh. We aren't interested in reviewing books or rating movies, we just want to banter about the characters and the situations they find themselves in.

This episode we recap the 2005 movie adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. Right off the bat, Rose coins a phrase that she is very proud of and also hopes her mom NEVER hears. Listen... Mr. Darcy is too much of a snack to keep our inappropriate humor at bay.

This episode we recap the Netflix movie He’s All That, which is a remake of the 90s movie She’s All That. We had too much fun recapping this movie because Rom-Coms are like ugly babies--they are ALWAYS adorable by default. We don’t make the rules!

This episode we recap the Netflix movie After, which is an adaptation of the book by Anna Todd. Right away we can assume the book is superior to the movie, but to the surprise of no one we are easily entertained-- particularly when there is an accent involved. The red flags are everywhere so we collected them and turned them into a beautiful wreath.

This episode we recap the book we didn’t know we were missing in our lives. Midnight Sun by Stephanie Meyers is Twilight from the perspective of Edward Cullen. Dark and broody is apparently both of our types, and as we simp over a hundred-year-old vampire, we temporarily retire our red-flag mascot despite evidence to the contrary.

This episode we recap the Netflix movie The Kissing Booth, which is based on a novel by Beth Reekles. Rose is shocked by the revelation Courtney makes about their home-town neighborhood. The official mascot of the podcast reveals itself to be a literal red flag.

This episode is a continuation of episode one's Recap of A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas. Having cleared the world building, we now dive into the hot juicy tea, having a blast judging the characters whilst fighting our conflicting feelings over Beautiful Stranger. Ultimately, Feyre’s boyfriend is just not that into her.

In this episode we dive headfirst into the world of Sarah J Maas’s fantasy novel A Court Of Thorns and Roses. It's a romance at heart, and Courtney gives us a glimpse of her affinity to red flags, especially in hundred-year-old fae men. Rose wonders if her cohost is a crazy-pants.
