Next, I asked how he's going about picking PB players for next season. What variables are at play that one should weight up when purchasing/selling a player?

This led us on to talk about how to value a player. Is it via comparable value? Or against dividend yield? Either way this conversation actually got us talking about Paulo Dybala as we profiled him!

I then went on to ask Agatello if there are any world cup tips that went for/against him? I also asked if there were any IPO players that he would like to be seen promoted!

One great topic of conversation was how we'd change the IPO system to make it fairer....this created a really interesting discussion!

We're going to have 20 days (yes 20!) of triple media between the 15th July and the 10th of August, so are transfer linked players going to see some big action? With the Premier league and Ligue 1 start on the 11th of August, La Liga starting on the 18th of August, and Serie A and Bundesliga beginning on the 19th and 24th of August respectively- when will PB players take over? Are people Sleeping on the Champions league and Europa League that start in mid september? Considering the massive rises we saw in the likes of Koke and Ronaldo last season, Chris thinks so....

Next up we talk about the 'Young Player Bubble'.....why are some young players so high in price? Chris and I try and put some logic into the equation...

Afterwards we get down and dirty with some maths, what price could Neymar eventually get to? Could we ever see a £20 Neymar?

Finally, we talk about other indices...could Football Index be NFL/NBA index in the future? Chris and I discuss future possibilities...

Tom and I start talking about being a newbie on the index. What does it look like from the outside in? What did Tom enjoy or dislike about the onboarding process? We discuss how FI may have a job on their hands in regards to a) getting customers on to the platform and b) keeping them on it. I asked him what he'd change, and this led to a deep dive into none other than the PB scoring matrix! Always a polarising subject.....

Next, we talk about his profession in spread betting and how that's helped him on the index. I also ask him to critique the FI business model in comparison to his experience in the finance industry.

We talk about the goal oriented nature of FI, and how it's quite different from FPL. We indexers don't really celebrate clean sheets or assists as much as FPL lovers, but is that a good thing or not? Tom and I discuss this at great length and it led to a great discussion!

Lastly, we had a question from twitter about the research in FPL and how it compares to FI when it comes to finding gems....Tom gives a great cross examination!

First up, Matt and I discuss who the surprise packages at the World Cup, both teams and players. Could Croatia and Senegal cause upsets? Who's going to be the 'James Rodriguez' of this tournament? On the other hand- who's going to fail to deliver? Will France and Belgium crumble under the pressure?

Next up, will Belgium be the next Spain, or the next England? With so many individual talents, the pressure on Belgium is high- but can they find the cohesion and chemistry to take them far into the tournament? Matt and I have our say!

Neymar is most certainly going to be talk of the tournament, but will this be his World Cup? Will he lead Brazil to glory and finally stamp his name in history? Or will Brazil flatter to decieve. Their squad is most certainly stronger this time around, but will we see them finally replicate the winning mentality their 2002 squad have?

It would be a shame if Matt came on the pod and didn't discuss Serie A players, so I asked him what Serie A players will be stars at the World Cup. We discuss Luca Torreira, Arkadiusz Milik and various other italian based players who could have a great impact on the tournament.

Next, we talk about Leroy Sane and how he was left out of the World Cup final 23! The PFA young player of the year was dropped from the Germany squad, and we discuss why this may have happened- and whether or not Germany could regret it.

Finally, we had to talk about Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Who will have the better tournament? Who will lead their team to glory? Find out what Matt had to say about the two best players on the earth at the moment.
