Canada institutes additional measures to combat the Omicron COVID-19 variant.

As Canada reacts to the new, highly mutated Omicron variant of COVID-19, beginning today, unvaccinated travelers over the age of 12 won't be able to board a plane or train in the country and a negative COVID-19 test will no longer serve as a substitute for most people.

Later in the show, Cancer is the leading cause of death in Canada, mostly affecting Canadians 50 years of age and older. On average, over 600 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer every day. As more people live into old age, the number of cancer cases will continue to rise.
