  • Long COVID, Housing Affordability & Global Bird Rescue
It’s known as “Long COVID.” It’s when patients infected with the virus deal with symptoms for weeks or even months. Thousands of Ontarians are reportedly dealing with the issue. Jane will speak with medical experts Dr. Fahad Razak and Dr. Peter Juni on the issue.
Later, a new Nanos poll shows that, in the final few days of the election, affordable housing is a major issue for voters in the GTA. 32% of the 500 people polled said, unprompted, that housing was their biggest issue when they head to the ballot box on Monday.
Finally, from September 27-October 3, teams from around the world will be patrolling around buildings looking for birds that collided with windows. It's all part of the Global Bird Rescue and it's being organized by a group out of Toronto. They're trying to continue to raise awareness about the damage to global bird populations from bird collisions with reflective windows on high rises and homes that are largely preventable.

  • Latest Polling Numbers & Ontario's Vaccine Passport
Election Day is almost here! With less than a week to go, the polling numbers are coming in fast from all corners.
Libby Znaimer is joined by Erin Kelly, CEO of Advanced Symbolics Incorporated, an Ottawa-based company that created the Polly Pollster AI technology used to predict election results; and Lorne Bozinoff, President of the Forum Research Group to discuss.
And later, Ontario has released more details on the COVID-19 vaccine passport.
Effective a week tomorrow, patrons will need to show proof of full vaccination and a piece of ID to enter non-essential settings like restaurants, theatres and gyms.
And the province says it's on target to introduce a new Q-R code October 22nd that will eventually have medical exemptions embedded.
When asked during a news conference how the new proof of vaccine policy will be enforced, Health Minister Christine Elliott said that, along with bylaw officers...if any businesses feel threatened while attempting to enforce the new vaccine protocols, the province wants them to call 9-1-1.
Libby Znaimer is joined by Lindsay Broadhead, Senior Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs at the Toronto Region Board of Trade; Derek Valleau, Co-Owner of Pukka restaurant; and John Karastamatis, Director of Sales & Marketing at Mirvish Productions, to discuss what this all means for businesses in the City.

Election Day is just around the corner! Libby Znaimer is joined by John Capobianco
Senior Vice President & Senior Partner, FleishmanHillard HighRoad; Karen Stintz CEO, Variety Village; and Charles Sousa the former Minister of Finance for Ontario, to discuss the party’s last-week strategies.
Later, an NDP candidate in a key Toronto riding is under fire after appearing to invent and then spread a conspiracy theory about Israel and COVID 19 vaccines. Sidney Coles is running in Toronto St. Paul's ... and repeatedly claimed on Twitter that Israel is somehow responsible for missing doses of COVID 19 vaccine in the United States last winter. On Sunday, Coles apologized for posting what she called unsubstantiated theories about vaccine supply linked to Israel. The apology came after a prominent Jewish human rights organization ... Friends of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre for Holocaust Studies, highlighted her posts online Sunday morning.
Libby Znaimer is joined by Jaime Kirzner-Roberts, Director of Policy at the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies; and Simon Granat, Senior Manager, Policy and Communications at The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs to discuss this troubling issue.
Finally, with Election Day is less than a week away, Libby Znaimer is joined by Dugald Maudsley,
Regional Media Adviser - GTA for Elections Canada to discuss the advance polling numbers, and the mechanics of mail-in ballots.

  • Final Week Of The Election, The Mu Variant & Erin O'Toole Joins Fight Back
On the federal election campaign trail, the party leaders have just one more week to lay out their visions and approaches for Canada. A lot of promises have been made, but who among these political parties is offering the most zest for Zoomers?
Libby Znaimer is joined by David Cravit Vice President, Zoomer Media and Chief Membership Officer, CARP; Peter Muggeridge Senior Editor of Zoomer Magazine; and John Wright
Executive Vice President Maru Public Opinion to discuss.
Later, while the Delta variant of COVID-19 continues to be the dominant strain around the world, scientists are sounding the alarm that a new variant dubbed ‘Mu’...which has already been detected in Ontario...contains a set of mutations indicating it could be resistant to neutralizing antibodies arising from vaccination and infection.
Right now cases of Mu, or B.1.621 as it’s officially known, are very small compared to those of the highly transmissible Delta. Since Mu was first detected in Colombia in January, the variant has spread to some 42 countries, including Canada and all 50 U.S. states. Here in Ontario, the variant was first detected on June 23rd and has since been found 168 times in the province, mostly in the GTA.
Libby Znaimer is joined by Dr. Timothy Sly, an epidemiologist and professor at the school of Occupational and Public Health at Ryerson University to explore this Mu variant.
And finally, With just one week left until the federal election, Libby Znaimer is joined by Erin O'Toole, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada to discuss what his party has to offer Canadians.
