Fight Disciples Podcast

The final fight of the calendar year in the UFC was an absolute shocker.

Jared Cannonier and Sean Strickland dished up a snoozefest to end an otherwise incredible year inside the Octagon.

The night as a whole was a solid night of fighting, but the main event was rubbish. End of.

We review the final night from the Apex in 2022 ahead of breaking for the holidays.

Dan Azeez took care of Rocky Fielding in good style and now hopefully moves on to a real meaningful fight in 2023.

Chris Billam Smith served up a late contender for KO of the year and Caroline Dubois put in a dazzling display in Bournemouth.

We review the final week of the year in the boxing ring.

12 fights took place at the TMobile arena in Las Vegas for UFC282 with 10 of them finished within regulation.  The two that required the three wise men to determine a winner though have brought major talking points.

After the dust has settled we give you a more considered version of how that co-main event should have been scored and suggest improvements going forward in our second MMA podcast of the week.

What a fantastic weekend of boxing.  We completely appreciate that two British champions lost their world titles but the fights they were in, for different reasons, were both fantastic for the sport.

Josh Warrington came up short against Luis Lopez in defence of his featherweight title in a fight that was absolutely brilliant.  Meanwhile Paul Butler faced greatness as he took on the monster in Japan for the undisputed bantamweight crown.

Across the pond Terence Crawford and Teofimo Lopez was in action and Belfast saw a sensational display from Michael Conlan.

We review the lot.

It was Karate vs Kung-Fu on Saturday night in Orlando and Karate came out on top as Stephen Wonderboy Thompson went through the repertoire against Kevin Holland.  A late contender for fight of the year topped a tremendous card.

We get stuck into a full review as well as looking ahead partly to what is to come this weekend in Las Vegas at UFC282

Sixty thousand people turned up at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium in the freezing cold on Saturday for a mismatch on paper that was even more so in reality.  Dereck Chisora had no business being in the ring with Tyson Fury at this stage of his career and a fight between the two ended up becoming an uncomfortable watch.

Juan Estrada nicked a narrow points victory in a trilogy with Roman Gonzalez which leaves us all wanting a forth whilst Josh Kelly reminded everyone of just how much potential he really has.
