As the founder of LEO Warriors, LLC, Ashlie has spent her entire career as a coach working with first responders, armed service members and their families. She helps her clients find balance between their personal lives and their professions. She hosts the Tactical Living Podcast and is the Admin for the most badass Facebook Group that exists, POLICE, FIRE, MILITARY AND FAMILIES.
Her podcast has ranked #105 on the iTunes charts.
Ashlie has over 13 years of experience in the medical field and has been married to an officer for over 12 years. She’s been able to pinpoint the #1 reason why people who are in professions, like first responders and military service members, never talk about the problems that are faced as a consequence of the profession.
Ashlie and I speak about the importance of the Thin Blue Line and how it is held together. I wonder if it is time to expand the Thin Blue Line into our homes. So much time is spent developing working relationships on the job, that we often avoid the person who needs the most attention. You!
It's time to get back on course and chart a new heading. Get focused and get moving!

Have you ever wondered how you would get sober? Really sober? My next guest opens up about her recovery and how her lifestyle led to a life of drinking and using. My guest, Lane Kennedy, opens up about how "Mutual Aide saved her life!" Lane was blessed with a lifestyle that would cause most of us to have envy. On the outside, her career looked promising. She lived in a beautiful home in California. She had nice cars, 6 closets, 500 pair of shoes and a pedigree dog. But on the inside, she knew she needed help. Lane indicated that, "Her lifestyle said it was ok" to drink and to show up to work and sell homes.
Lane needed to stop drinking but found it difficult. Her friends and clients drank and she knew that drinking was socially accepted. She believed drinking was a normal everyday activity but "what wasn't normal was the way I felt afterwards". Her friends held it together while she remained at home after a night of drinking throwing up, curled up in a ball hiding in her closet. She needed help and needed it now.
Tune into the podcast to learn how Lane recovered from her addiction and is living her amends daily. Check out her podcast at: Recover Like A mother.

93,331 died in 2020 from drug overdose. Other than reading about overdose on your phone, where else are you hearing about it? I would venture to say, no where! How is is that over 93,000 Americans died last year and no one is talking about it? Sure, you see an article here and there about a popular figure dying of an overdose.
Did we get lost in the Covid pandemic? Maybe, it was the sweeping masks mandates or the push to be vaccinated. Either way, we are losing the battle. 255 American's are losing the battle of addiction.
I read an article this week from the Insider Magazine titled, "The fentanyl-laced cocaine that killed LA comedian is showing up everywhere-here's why it's so deadly and how to avoid it."
The author shared her take on how to avoid overdose. Here is was:
1. Use test strips to test your drugs before you use them.
2. Keep Naloxone on hand in case you overdose.
REALLY! This is your tips to avoid overdose. So what your telling me is you can't die from regular heroin or meth overdose?
How about Sobriety and Recovery? Let's try that!

The Green Berets, the U.S. Army’s Special Forces, are the military’s premier unconventional warriors. Richard Flaherty was, perhaps, the most unconventional Green Beret warrior to ever serve.
Flaherty served with the 101st Airborne during Vietnam. He was awarded a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, and two Purple Hearts. After Vietnam, he did contract work for the CIA all over the world.
But he had to fight to even get into the Army and the Army’s Officer Candidate School (OCS), going so far as to get his congressman involved. The reason was that Richard Flaherty was just 4’9” tall.
Years after Vietnam, David Yuzuk, a career Miami Beach police officer, struck a friendship with a confident but unassuming homeless man. After 15 years the man told Yuzuk, “It’s time I tell you who I really am.” The homeless man was Richard Flaherty.
Yuzuk finally learned the man’s story and began a quest to discover all there was to know about this diminutive man who cast a giant shadow in combat.
Detective Yuzuk shares the true story of Richard Flaherty, The Giant Killer. Det. Yuzuk shares insights into Flaherty's life and death. At the end of his life, Flaherty was battling his own demons and addiction. Flaherty was killed just days after agreeing to talk about his life as a soldier and CIA contractor. Flaherty's life is one of valor, courage and the fight for ultimate freedom.
After listening to this podcast, I invite you to share it. Talk to your friends about The Giant Killer. Please like and leave a review so we can continue to improve on each episode.
