  • #88 How to Ask for Money

Welcome to the latest episode of Let’s Talk Money and More Podcast where I answer a question posed by a member of my Facebook Community ‘Where Money goes Mindset Grow’, who asked how can she remove her money challenge, when asking for money she is owned, or for sponsorship for a good cause. Which truthfully, can be a difficult task. So in this episode, I will provide you with some practical tips to help you become more confident and successful in your money conversations. Enjoy tuning in!

    Key Takeaways

    • Detach any sense of asking for money from your self-worth and focus on the fact that you are asking for what is rightfully yours or for a good cause.
    • Be fully prepared before you ask for money by planning ahead and visualizing a positive outcome to eliminate nerves.
    • Be clear and concise with your request to help the other person know exactly what is required of them.
    • Focus on positive outcomes rather than potential rejection when asking for money and model polite behavior expressing gratitude.
    • Rehearse difficult money conversations to gain confidence and remember that the more money conversations you have, the more comfortable you will be talking about money.

As a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, Gavin has honed his expertise in running his own practice and providing independent advice. In 2022, he decided to go solo again, focusing on helping those who have found themselves alone through bereavement or relationship breakdown, a situation he understands all too well from his own experience. • #86 Money Mindset for Children

In this solo episode # 86 of Let’s Talk Money and More Podcast, with me your host Lesley Thomas, I discuss about one of the most important things that we can do for our children and that is to help them develop a positive money mindset. As parents, we want nothing but the best for our children.

Money is an important part of life and understanding how to manage it is critical to long-term success and happiness. Unfortunately, many children today grow up without a positive view of money. They see it as a source of stress, difficulty, or even taboo.

But with your help, you can help your children develop a positive attitude toward money that will serve them well for years to come. In this episode I discuss how.

    Key Takeaways

    • By teaching children to view money as a necessary skill to learn about from a young age can help them develop a solid foundation for good decision making that will serve them well in the long term.
    • Instilling a positive money mindset in children is crucial for their financial well-being.
    • Just like adults, children need to be allowed to make mistakes and learn from them. Learning from mistakes can help children develop a better understanding of budgeting, saving, and spending wisely.
    • As children grow older, it's important to provide them with opportunities to manage their own money.
    • Teaching children about money is an ongoing process that requires patience, intention, and commitment.
