Oftentimes we as nurses think that the only way to advance in our careers is by obtaining advanced degrees. Amelia is challenging that narrative and asking you to just do a google search on how to maximize your expertise. Paying off student loans made Amelia realize that she has the power to control her circumstances. On a quest to figure out a way to earn an extra $1,000 from home,  she used the special gift she believes we ALL were designed with, to not only pay off her debt but to help other nurses find their purpose.

Through a little peer pressure and gentle coaxing, Tara has been able to get her coworkers to invest early in their careers setting them up to have a nice nest egg. From an early age, Tara has been taught about frugality and it has served her well. If only her hospital retirement advisor hadn't told her that retirement at the age of 45 "wasn't a thing" she would have invested 50% of her income from the time she started working in her 20s instead of the 15% and been fatFIRE by now. Tara also discusses how her multiple side-hustles has helped her turn her passion into profits, further growing the gap between her income and expenses.

Nakeetsha Dryer is a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Nursing has given her the opportunity and flexibility to change her family tree. It has opened the world of entrepreneurship to her and allowed her to pay off $140k in debt, $ 62k and counting since Jan 2019. She has always been able to negotiate unique work schedules and opportunities which allowed her the flexibility to be with and take care of her family. Later on, she was able to open a clinic, and also hold a contract working from home doing tele-psychiatry earning multiple 6 figures last year (in Alabama). Her goal is to pay off $184k in debt to become debt-free this year (2019).

Lynn Frair is a Nurse turned Money Coach who began investing at the age of 12. Despite her diligence in saving early on, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor which was difficult but changed her life. It wiped out all their savings and they had to rebuild from a net worth of zero in 2009. Hanging on to her investments in 2008/9 when everyone else was bailing, she was able to accumulate enough money in her investments to comfortably retire at the age of 40.
