Consciousness could be defined as the ability to be aware of our own existence. This is a distinct quality of human beings (as far as we know), which allows us to look inwards and reflect on our present and future life.

This being aware of our own existence carries the responsibility of taking ownership of our thoughts, feelings and actions – This is an essential fact, given that the overall quality of our lives is mostly based on the decisions we make. 

The universe can be chaotic – this can make us feel unease, considering that we humans have a strong tendency of boxing things and inserting them into specific categories. This universal chaos can sometimes be overwhelming, giving us a hard time when it comes to ponder potential choices.   

It’s important to set our life goals straight, as well as to establish a clear intention and plan of action towards them. However, checking on those ultimate objectives from time to time is key, since they can change substantially as we evolve throughout our lifetime. 

Chronicle discontent in the way that we’re always longing for more seems to be an inherent condition of mankind. Whilst this may carry a negative connotation, it actually pushes us to achieve our best selves, and is the underlying motor of human evolution.
 
Easy-to-access stuff such as books and podcasts can be really powerful tools for self-growth.
