Alex Johnson, creator of the Fintech Takes newsletter, and I are happy to bring you the latest episode of our monthly podcast, Fintech Recap, where we unpack some of the biggest stories in fintech, banking, and crypto.
This month, we had the chance to talk about:
* Consumer fintechs that are still getting funded: Daylight, Totem, Greenwood & more
* Zelle testing giving users refunds for some kinds of fraud
* Tellus’ confusing offerings
* JG Wentworth buying Stilt
* FTX & BlockFi (we keep it brief, I promise)
* …and what we just can’t let go of.
Hey all, Jason here.
What a week it’s been! This episode marks the one-year anniversary of this podcast. Alex Johnson, creator of the Fintech Takes, and I recorded our first episode live at Money20/20 last year.
Unfortunately, Alex got trapped in Montana due to a snowstorm and wasn’t able to join me for this episode.
But fintech Twitter came to the rescue. Matt Janiga, GC at Lithic, Charles Potts, Chief Innovation Officer at ICBA, and Julio Gomez, Industry Evangelist at Highnote, were all kind enough to join me to opine on the last year in fintech and banking and “precap” the Money20/20 show.

And, as always, what Alex and I just can’t let go of (hint: it involves Kim Kardashian and this music video demonstrating the brazenness of pandemic-era fraudsters.)
