During Jesus' prayer to the Father, Jesus talks of his disciples and indirectly about us. Jesus has called us out of the world, He is protecting us from the world and yet He has sent us into the world. Why doesn't Jesus take us out of the world when we become Christians? What purpose does Jesus have in continuing to have us live in the world?

We will be talking about Paul's first missionary journey. Paul preaches to Antioch seeking the spread of salvation to the ends of the earth. The Jews rejected Paul's message so he turned to the gentiles. God had told Paul, "I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.” Acts 13:47

Did Paul minister to the Thessalonians for personal gain? No! As we minister to others our motives matter. Why do I tell people about Jesus? What were Paul's motives? What are our motives?

We are ambassadors sent by our king Jesus to reconcile others to Himself. Jesus gave us this ministry of reconciliation. Our dream is to introduce people to Jesus so they will get to know Him and follow Him.

Luke 15 talks about the Lost Sheep, Lost Coin and Lost Son. God seeks the lost through His church and God rejoices when a sinner repents. We need to seek the lost. We can do this by 1) Resist the Tendency to isolate, 2) Spend significant amounts of time with people over time, 3) Get to the Gospel.

Understanding the worth of Jesus is the first step to true evangelism. In this lesson we see that the worth of the Lamb fuels us for mission and the worth of the Lamb frees us for mission.

John 17 starts with Jesus' prayer. What did Jesus pray for? What were his priorities? Our text today will tell us what life is all about by reading how Jesus prayed.

The disciples were saddened when Jesus announced to them that he would be leaving them. His leaving them was good for them because: 1) Jesus leaving means joy in the resurrection, 2) Jesus leaving means access to the Father, 3) Jesus leaving means peace in tribulation.

In this passage Jesus talks about the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit convicts the world, the Holy Spirit reveals truth and the Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus. The Holy Spirit helps us to understand Jesus so we can glorify Him.

Jesus said that we will be persecuted. In this passage Jesus tells us that we will be hated because the world hates him.
