Certain lessons we catch easily, others are harder to learn. In this message, Jesus spells out for us the lessons found in the "washing of the disciple's feet." Jesus talks of deep humility and practical service.

The genealogy recorded in the beginning of the book of Matthew shows us that Jesus has the right to be a king to the Jews and the Gentiles. Jesus was the fulfillment of the Abrahamic and Davidic covenant. Jesus is a faithful king and Jesus is a forgiving king.

The Jewish leaders refused to believe in Jesus. Did God have a purpose in this unbelief? Some of the leaders did believe. Who were they? Did God cause their unbelief or was it something they did to themselves?

Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin. In this passage, John talks about 1) The glory that Jesus' death will bring, 2) The fruit Jesus' death will bring, 3) The judgment that Jesus' death will bring and 4) The victory that Jesus' death will bring. What should be our response to this message? 1) Worship, Follow Jesus and Believe!

Do we celebrate Jesus. During the time in Jesus' life that we now call Palm Sunday, the people called out to Jesus, "Hosanna" while waving palm branches. They were celebrating Jesus' arrival. But they were not looking at Jesus as their spiritual savior, they were looking at Jesus as a political savior, a man who would defeat the Romans and proclaim freedom for the Roman domination.

Do you love Jesus or do you follow Him to get something from Him? Mary worshiped Jesus by giving Him a very costly perfume. Judas said that the perfume should be sold and given to the poor. The only problem....Judas would have taken the money for himself. Judas was spending time with Jesus to benefit himself.

After Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, many people believed in Jesus but some did not. The religious leaders did not believe and in fact wanted to kill Jesus. Why did they not believe and why did they want to kill Jesus?

This is the account of the raising of Lazarus from the dead. The two main points are: The Path to Glory and The View of Glory. Many believed because of the raising of Lazarus from the dead but some did not. Next week's sermon covers this important topic.

We all need others in our lives. Ephesians 2:11-22 gives a good picture of what God's community, the church, looks like. Community should not be just talked about, it must be lived out. As Christians, we can not live the Christian life alone. We need others who are willing to come alone side. We need community.

There is a popular song which says, "Lead me in love to those around me." How can we love our neighbors? Jesus is our example. He showed us how to love the poor. We need to be careful that we do not show partiality, this is sin. Instead, we need to learn to love all those who are around us. Let's show those round us God's amazing mercy. Act on it!
