God wants us to bear fruit. In order to be able to do this, God will prune us. He wants us to depend on Him. He wants us to seek Him and to be His disciple.

Last week we looked at the prophecy by Mary, the mother of Jesus. This week we look at the prophecy by Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist. This prophecy talks about the fulfillment of the promised made to Abraham and David. It talks about the salvation that will come through Jesus.

Mary visits Elizabeth and then sings a song. It is not an ordinary song but a time of praise to God for what He has done and what He was planning to do.

We are loved by Jesus so that we will love like Jesus.

We want to be independent but Jesus wants us the depend on Him. Jesus is the vine and we need to be connected to Him. How do we remain connected to the vine? By 1) Remain in His Word, 2) Continue in Jesus' love.

Three glimpses into the sovereignty of God: 1) Supposed inaction, 2) Starting intervention, 3) Singular instruments. There are three lessons from this message: 1) History is under God's control, 2) History follows a divine timetable and 3) The ultimate of God's timetable is our salvation.

Jesus had to leave us so that the Holy Spirit could come into our lives. Here are three ways the Holy Spirit works through us: 1) Spirit-Empowered Mission, 2) Spirit-Given Truth, 3) Spirit-Produced Relationship.

Jesus said that he was going to prepare a place for us. What did He mean by that? Also, Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through me."
