There is only one way to change the future: change what you are doing in the present. Change your politicking. Change your praying. Change your thinking. Change your living; and, change your dying. You can't get to a different destination by hitting the accelerator. You have to use the steering wheel. Many people try to change things by changing their speed. You have to change your direction.

That's our theme for this last Sunday in 2017. There's no guarantee any of us will see 2018--but, if we do, we need to be ready to make some changes.

We have been on a journey. Just as the Wise Men were guided by a Star, we have been guided on our Advent Journey by the Light of God's Word.

We have experienced Love, Hope, and Peace. Today, we arrive in our journey on the Mountain of Joy! Joy isn't what most people think it is. Joy isn't about wonderful, happy circumstances that make our heart glad. Like peace, joy is a matter of God's favor. Joy is a gift from God.

Christmas is essentially a love story. Joseph and Mary loved each other of course, but the real love in the story is God's transforming love. It is so powerful.

Advent is about a journey. In our wait for the return of our Lord, we are not sitting idle--or at least we should not be sitting idle. We should still be following the "star" of God's mercy and kindness, just like the Wise Men with the first advent.

Pastor Jack tops off our season of Thanksgiving with a message on "service." Serving God is the best way to say, "Thank You!"

It is not surprising to read in Luke 17:11-19, about Ten Lepers who were healed, but only one bothered to say, "Thank You." Healed of leprosy! And, no "Thank You." Something is really wrong with those Nine Lepers. In this message Pastor Jack assesses what is really taking place in this story, mentioned only by Luke, which is significant in and of itself.

There is a problem lurking in our country that everyone seems to be ignoring. The Elephant in the Room that nobody wants to talk about, is the fact the God can, and will exist without America, but America cannot and will not exist without God. It is impossible to fully comprehend what it meant for Jesus to leave the glories of heaven to enter to gore of life here on earth. Many see it as the Devil's day, while others consider it as a chance to shine light in the darkness. God wants to bless our lives infinitely more than we could ever imagine. His call to love and serve Him invites us into a relationship with Yahweh, the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe.
