The Lord hit a home run for worship today! 84 people in worship!!! So thankful for the attitudes in our church that put Christ first! May Jesus be our greatest hour!!!

“His grace hath brought me safe thus far...” Newton’s mighty Hymn echoed in the sanctuary at Troup UMC  a full year to the day churches across our Conference and nation shutdown due to a dramatic loss of life, and would bring about an unprecedented economic hit to many. A year later, Paul’s charge is the same to the Ephesians who went through adversity (see Acts 19) : “By grace you have been saved.” Rhiannon and I are proud  of Christians who have “more than conquered ”(Romans 8:37) through Christ in the last year by having to do what’s necessary. Hang in there! The cross for our sin is sufficient! Don’t forget to like and share. Have a blessed week!

The world is starving for control and power. Paul reminds us that the solution for control is not with us! Only repenting for our sin or “missing the mark”,  by the cross of Christ, can we obtain true power and godliness! It was so good to see familiar faces today! God bless and love you all! The message of Lent is a powerful one. God came in flesh not to make us happy, but to change us! To take on on our sin and not only forgive us, but inspire us to change. Yes we want God to change our world, and our culture, but the change doesn’t start with the world, it starts with us! You and me! We are Redeemed by the blood of Jesus. That’s not a pass to do what we want, it’s the power to change , even now! Share  today’s message with people who need to know it’s not to late to change!  Have a blessed week!

It was a wonderful first Sunday of Lent! The change up with prayer time of “Hear Our Prayers” and the Nicean Creed went very well! 

Folks, our world needs saving. We repent not only for our wrongs, but why we did right. Who can do that perfectly? The answer is, no one! Father, give us strength to “pick up the Queso”  for you this week!! (Note: Those who heard service today know what I’m talking about!) #Lent #JalapenoTreefordays
