As we joked in worship today, not a lot of Christians could pass Wesley’s high bar of “Do No Harm”, the first of His General Rules. Maybe we can’t, but we can ask if we take our commitment to Christ seriously. Glory to God He still has many who follow Him alone! It was another great day in Troup! Worship service notes

2020 has been a heck of a year, but because of the birth of Christ, we have zero reason to be ashamed! Christ’s Genealogy  proves one thing: We are not defined by sin/mistakes we have made,  we are defined by Gods purposes for our lives. As the hymn says: God is not dead, and neither are we! Have a good final week of 2020!

Such a beautiful evening! Thanks to all who helped make it happen. The birth of Christ is more than a story! The Word (Luke 1:1-4), and the impact on believers after the Bible was written is all the proof we need! Note the start of the service as Tatum Hunter does an excellent job on Ava Maria, and after the service is over listen as we begin talking about Justin Todd playing in Troup April 10th! Have a mighty, merry Christmas! Christ’s  birth has done everything for us!

Today was a great day!!!! Handel, and Mary’s Magnificat have two things in common. When they were sung, Mary and Handel were in trouble. Yet both believed that God reigns! Hush the noisy world today! Not with noise of your own, but your finger pointed to the sky! Pointing to the God who reigns, and there isn’t a thing the world can do about it.  Like, share, and have a blessed week!

In an attempt to keep alive a Christmas tradition in Troup UMC but also respect the challenge of rising Covid in our area, our ‘Hanging of the Greens service’, usually at night, is our worship this morning in Troup UMC. We have finally made it to a new Christian year! The promise of the Bible and Advent is simple: even when everything we expect doesn’t happen: we can expect Christ! Who was born, and will come again to make all things right! May our hearts cry be Wesley’s this advent!
