The chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Police, Francois Beukman says there should be proper vetting and lifestyle audits of members within the South African Police services. This after the Independent Police Investigative Directorate(IPID), highlighted attempts by members of the SAPS to bribe senior officials investigating corruption. Traffic is expected to be congested on the N1 road between Polokwane and Musina as thousands of holiday makers travel from various provinces to Limpopo and neighbouring countries for the Easter holidays. The transport department in Limpopo says it is ready to receive thousands of motorists in the province including a large numebr of ZCC members traveling to Moria for their annual Easter pilgrimage. A motion of no confidence against Mayor Athol Trollip‚ tabled by the EFF‚ was set to be discussed. 12 people have died in the bush crash the R58 near Satan's Neck between Ngcobo and Elliot. Some people were earlier said to still trapped in the bus and jaws of life are being used to free them. Human Settlements Minister, Nomaindia Mfeketo, says she cannot rule out a possible link between recent land grabs in the country and ongoing debates in parliament around land expropriation. She's held talks with officials from the Overstrand Municipality in Hermanus following days of violent protests over land and housing. Several buildings were set alight and roads blockaded.
