The Western Cape High Court has reversed its earlier decision that Parliament not suspend EFF MP's or dock their salaries following their disruption of Parliament during President Jacob Zuma's 2014 State of the Nation address. They were demanding that pay back the money for the upgrade of his Nkandla homestead. In 2014 Judge Dennis Davis granted an interim order, pending the determination of issues relating to fairness and procedures followed in Parliament's decision to suspend them and dock their pay. Parliament asked for a review of the earlier ruling, which has now been granted. EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi says the party will appeal the decision. Disgruntled ANC members are rejecting the Provincial task team which was recently appointed by the national ANC leadership, to oversee the process of electing the new provincial executive committee. Earlier today there were protests outside the party's offices, however, the Kwa Zulu Natal, Provincial task team says the protests are not directed to the interim structure. The African National Congress (ANC) has reacted to the Hawks' raid on the Free State Premier's office. The party says the law must be allowed to take its course in the matter of the Estina dairy farm project in Vrede. This follows today's raids by the Hawks on the offices of outgoing Free State Premier Ace Magashule and the Agriculture Department in Bloemfontein. Today on our regular Friday feature, Open Mic, we pay tribute to the late Jazz music legend and activist, Hugh Masekela. Bra Hugh, as he is fondly known by his fans, friends and family, died on Tuesday after a long battle with Prostate Cancer. He was 79-years-old. Masekela has collaborated with some of the world's best performers, such as the likes of the late Miriam Makeba, Harry Belafonte, Louis Armstrong, Angelique Kidjo and Paul Simon.
