PM Live this afternoon pays tribute to the master of the trumpet, Bra Hugh Masekela. Bra Hugh died at his home in Bryanston, Johannesburg this morning after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was 78 years old. Bra Hugh didn't just give us music, he worked to expose the apartheid system in South Africa. He made music that reflected his experiences and the political climate of the 1950s and 1960s. Masekela's music portrays the struggles and joys of living in South Africa, and voiced protest against slavery and discrimination. Tsepiso Makwetla spoke to two of Bra Hugh's long time childhood friends, Tim Modise and Thabang Makwetla
