Ratings agency Moody's has cut Steinhoff to junk rating, dropping it by four notches from the previous Baa3 to B1 and placed it on review for further downgrade. Democratic Alliance member of parliament Manny de Freitas has laid criminal charges against Deputy Minister of Finance Sfiso Buthelezi, and former PRASA CEO Lucky Montana. Speaking in front of the Cape Town Police Station, Freitas says the charges emanate from the former Public Protector report in 2015 titled "Derailed" report. He says the charges relate to offences of financial mismanagement in the findings of the forensic reports commissioned by the National Treasury into PRASA contracts in 2012.
