National Funeral Practitioners Association of South Africa (NAFUPA) says as of the first of February, funeral companies or parlours that do not have black owners will not be allowed to operate in predominantly black areas. The association says this decision was taken in order to boost township and rural economy. The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and its head Shaun Abrahams have filed an appeal with the Constitutional Court against a North Gauteng High Court ruling that the appointment of its head Shaun Abrahams was invalid. They argue against the finding by the Court that President Jacob Zuma appointed Abrahams because he was less likely to charge the president than his predecessor, Mxolisi Nxasana. Yesterday, President Jacob Zuma filed notice to appeal the Pretoria high court ruling that he's conflicted and as a result cannot appoint the National Director of Public Prosecutions.
