The first direct flight to Kerikeri from Wellington has just landed, leap-frogging Auckland.

It's hoped the flights will help boost the economy in Te Tai Tokerau, which had been cut off by the Delta outbreak in the supercity.

RNZ reporter Nita Blake-Persen is at the airport in Kerikeri, and tells Māni Dunlop it's looking a little bit like the airport scene in Love Actually.
