Is an injury affecting your
whole life?
On ridiculous levels of painkillers and finding it increasingly difficult to move, Kevin ended up not socialising, distancing himself from his passions and became somewhat isolated.
After having two knee replacements 5 years ago, Kevin Byrne was left in constant levels of excruciating pain…
He was given ridiculous levels of painkillers and I ended up not being able to do anything, which was frustrated him.
He got to a point two or three months back where he was really quite low.
On ridiculous levels of painkillers and finding it increasingly difficult to move, Kevin ended up not socialising, distancing himself from his passions and became somewhat isolated.
Now, I’m sure many of you (I certainly can) resonate with Kevin.
An injury doesn’t just affect our body, but it affects our whole life.
From what we do, to how we feel, to how we act.
One of the main questions, we get asked from people before joining is …
"Can you help me even though I'm injured?"
Listen now to hear Kevin’s comeback with us and also how life doesn't have to stop when you have an injury.

Our member Lina, retired, had worked for years in banking whilst also being a mother.
Lina retired to look after her mum. Seeing her mums stability and declining mobility, Lina said to herself “I don’t want to be like that”
She wanted to start making the steps to a healthier version of herself and needed something for herself.
She wanted energy, she wanted to be stable, she wanted to be able to run after her grandchildren.
I feel better for doing it. “Ah great I’m really glad I’ve done that”.
She found normal gyms ‘soulless’, so she was thrilled to join our community.
Listen to Lina’s story here and find out why it's so important to find your WHY

Our member Martin was diagnosed as a diabetic as well as suffering with sleep apnoea
Where he would find himself "passing away" up to 30 times per night…
Martin was told by the doctors, the only way he could help with both of these, would be to lose weight.
…He knew it was time for things to change, however he knew that he needed the encouragement and accountability to keep coming to a gym consistently.
During this episode you’ll listen to Martins incredibly inspiring story and see how the support from The DVCC community has also given Martin a new found group of friends and allowed him to enjoy the things he loves most even more!
Including playing with his grandchildren.
It’s stories like this, that make us so proud of our members and really solidify why we do what we do. Not only that, how we all need that extra support and not to be left alone when on our health and fitness journey. And that is something we build our brand on here at The DVCC.
