  • Chapter XII: Horizon Air Flight 2059 + Mental Health

    Send us a text

    What's cookin everyone!

Welcome BACK to the flight attendant forum!

If you are new the flight attendant forum, I want to offer a very warm welcome to you as this is a platform for flight attendants, pilots and all crew within the aviation industry! However, this also serves as a travel community whether you are voracious traveler or just someone who wants to know a little behind the scenes about what it is like working for an airline!

This weeks episode, I delve into the recent events that occurred on Horizon Air Flight 2059 regarding a pilot who was riding on the jump seat in the cockpit and all details entailed within. While this weeks episode is a solo episode, I wanted to shine spotlight not only on what the likely vibe was during this emergency, but to highlight the importance of mental health in a career field that is mostly spent away from home. Moreover, I will be teaming up with Megan in the future as well as other friends/colleagues of mine to dissect this further. For now, I wanted to simply open up the can of uncomfortable worms, so to speak, regarding mental health and the impact it can have on being a flight attendant/pilot.

    Thanks for listening as always!!

  • Chapter X: Airshows and All Things Aviation From The Museum Of Flight

    Send us a text

    Hello!

Welcome BACK to the Flight Attendant Forum!

Thank you ALL SO much for those who have downloaded and listened to the FFF up to this point as chapter X comes to you on this weeks installment!

I do apologize for the delay I know it is Monday for the release of this episode, I am doing the best I can to stay around the Friday uploads so bare with me!

For this weeks episode, I was in Seattle, Washington at the absolutely stunning Museum of Flight! A bucket list item for me, it was imperative that I connected with someone who would be willing to come on the show and discuss all things aviation! Fortunately, Ted Huetter answered the call and was a gracious guest as we dove into all things flight. Moreover, Ted discussed his love for flying, air acrobatics, and connecting with the community. The museum has long yearned for a way to connect with the people of Seattle and recently they have helped bring in myriad local artists to display their pieces throughout the museum as a way to show their talents. In addition, the museum has curated events from fashion shows, drag brunches, and weddings. It is truly a place that can create life long memories as planes take off and land on premise just a few feet away.

Some highlights of the museum include the first Boeing 747 ever built, the 3rd 787 ever built, and one of the only last standing supersonic Concorde jets in existence to this day ( that was my favorite).

Over the next couple of weeks I look forward to bringing more stories and tidbits to you from my flying partners. If you would like to be part of the show please please reach out! Don't be shy! You can find me on instagram which is where the crux of all things show related will take place!

If you have any questions or topics you want me to over please do not hesitate to reach out!

  • Chapter IX: From Tenerife, Canary Islands

    Send us a text

    What is up!

Welcome BACK to the Flight Attendant Forum!

This week Nick and i (who you heard from in chapter V) are coming to you from the captivating landscape that is the Canary Islands, in southern Spain. We chose this as a destination to visit and couldn't have been more stoked on everything the beautiful island of Tenerife has to offer to its travelers. In addition, (as if this was a surprise) we chose to come here because as flight attendants you do indeed have the world at your disposal so while sometimes the last thing we want to do is get back on a plane and go somewhere, options like these make it a little more palatable. Nick and I spent time summarizing our trip to Tenerife, got sidetracked a couple times, and glossed over what it is like being a standby traveler (for those of you who have experienced it).

While we wanted to keep recording time was unfortunately not on our side as we needed to prepare for our journey back. If you want to hear more of Nick and I in future episodes please let me know. Either way this will not be the last time Nick is on the forum! We had a great time recording this short stack episode and hope to bring you other unique perspectives from places that we are currently traveling within or have been in the future!

You can follow the show too! (and nick)

  • Chapter VIII: Me As Your Flight Attendant, Sleeping Tactics, Crash Pads 101

    Send us a text

    Hello!

Welcome BACK to the Flight Attendant Forum!

Apologies for the delay on the upload of this latest installment!

Today I sit down with my good friend Megan as we come to you (semi) live from The Firebrand Hotel in Whitefish, Montana. We had been trying to get together for a long while now and bring you a fun, lighthearted episode to you! This will be part one as we have much more to dive into and dissect from each of our careers thus far, so keep an 👁 for that coming up soon!
Moreover, we discussed a myriad of topics such as how you should expect to be treated by yours truly should I be your flight attendant one day, how Megan got started flying, and some little insider secrets about how we can manage to (try) and sleep whenever we can! Additionally, we talk about the advantages and disadvantages of crash pads and how they can be a lifeline to flight attendants who first start out fresh out of training!

Thank you all SO so much who have listened to the forum and have continued to be repeat downloaders to this point. I cannot thank YOU enough!

    Enjoy today and everyday!

  • Labor Day Weekend Debrief

    Send us a text

    Hello!

Welcome BACK to the Flight Attendant Forum!

This last couple weeks have been super busy on my end, as well as trying to set up a recording date w some of my friends for this weeks episode. With that being said, I am committed to sticking to the every Friday or every other Friday for new episodes so please keep an 👁 out for those!

With Labor Day commencing this weekend, I didn't want to leave you hanging without any direction as far as the podcast itself goes. In today's (very) brief debrief, I gloss over some of the hidden perks of being a flight attendant as well as what I have been up to , and what is on deck for future episodes here on the forum.

Moreover, I am working on building a Twitter/X page for all of us to communicate and hangout on so bare with me as I put that together as well. I look for that to be the main source of community for everyone who wants to or who already has been a part of the forum up to this point.

I want to thank all of YOU the listeners who have even given me and my guests time out of your day to listen and hear what its like traversing the skies on a day to day basis. Special shout-out to Nina! Thank you for your very kind words!!!

All of you have an exceptional long weekend!

See you back here next Friday!

    Cheers!

    Good Day!

Welcome BACK to the Flight Attendant Forum!

Chapter 7 is on deck heading into the weekend and it was a good one! (Or at least I hope it is to you!)

I sat down on my layover in Reno with my colleague Alaina as we divulged into a smattering of topics, before I made my yearly donation to the casino. Moreover, we discussed how she got started in the aviation industry, what its like to have famous people on flights, and some fun lil tidbits from our tenure within the airline industry thus far.

As I state in the episode I look to upload new episodes every Friday or every other Friday moving forward so please keep an eye out for that!

Thank you all so much who have listened thus far and have even given me as well as my fellow friends the time out of your day! I can't wait to continue to build this thing out and include so many of you.

As always any feedback/reviews are very helpful in order to create a better listen for you, the listener.

    THANK YOU!!

Enjoy your weekend and talk soon as always ;)

  • Chapter VI: Reserve vs Lineholder What's The Difference?

    Send us a text

    Hello!

Welcome BACK to the Flight Attendant Forum!

Hope you all have had a solid weekend thus far as chapter 6 comes to you next!

This week I wanted to briefly highlight what its like starting out as a reserve flight attendant as well as "graduating" so to speak whenever you become a line holder throughout your career. I thought this would be a great opportunity to broadcast to people who are attempting to get this job and have always coveted becoming a flight attendant!

Additionally, I highlight the pros and cons of each and discuss the nuances that you navigate as a flight attendant. Being five years in, I have definitely experienced the ups and the downs as flying on airplanes for a career is an honor but also very VERY tiring!(I know you can relate)

We have attempted to best explain our schedules for friends/family in normal people terms so this episode encapsulates that for the next time you run into someone who is a flight attendant!

    Thanks so much for listening!

Please leave any review or feedback you have after any episode you listen to, as it helps me curate a better forum and community for all of our flying faithful out there!

    Stay safe!
