What are the different approaches when it comes to the violent texts of scripture?  How are we to understand the flood and why God chose to flood the Earth?  Why does God  command, in Deuteronomy, for the Canaanite destruction?  How do the Israelites in the book of Joshua respond to this command?  We had a conversation around these questions and more with Dr. Matthew Lynch.  Dr. Lynch released a book recently called Flood and Fury, Violence in the Old Testament and The Shalom of God and this is what we had a conversation around.  We hope you enjoy the conversation.
