Dopamine, a tiny little chemical in your brain responsible for more in your life than you can ever imagine.
Over the last few years, I have made it my mission to understand dopamine in as much theory and practical application as I can to help me to become the best version of myself.
You can imagine my delight and HUGE excitement when Dr Anna Lembke, a leading voice on Dopamine agreed to join me on the podcast to talk all about this tiny, crazy chemical.
Dr Lembke is a psychiatrist treating patients struggling with addiction
Chief of the Addiction Medicine dual diagnosis clinic at Stanford University
Author of Dopamine Nation: Finding Balance in the Age of Indulgence
And was featured in the 2020 netflix documentary 'The Social Dilemma'
She is a leading voice on the difficulties we face in our modern world when it comes to dopamine and the challenging balance of pleasure and pain.
In this episode Dr Lembe and I cover dopamine, addiction and how we can find balance in our crazy, over indulgent world.
We also discuss how the 'dreamer' mode is pleasure dominant, whilst the 'achiever' mode is pain dominant, and how we can find balance between the two, allowing us to live in our 'performer mode'.
I hope you enjoy this episode.
