Ana and Stephanie connected on an Instagram post of Stephanie's son’s Halloween costume. He chose to be curious George and she was the man in the yellow hat. Stephanie chose to allow her son to dress as this character knowing that there are many racial slurs about the black community being compared to monkeys. But Stephanie the mother of a mixed child was struggling with how can I tell my one-year old that he can't be what he wants to be because of the color of his skin?

Your son is too young to understand the historical backlash that's associated with black people being compared to chimps. But it's important for us that there are things that we need to work on because of just historical trauma, generational trauma, and racial slurs. There's a lot of things that we need to be mindful of in terms of how we present ourselves to the world and how we're presenting ourselves and social media.

This is the world that we live in, and some people don't see all of us as equal, and we're fighting for equity. No one was making that post racial, it is just the world we live in.

We all have triggers. Whether it be triggers around our hair, the color of our skin, our grades in school, the neighborhood we live in. We all have different triggers. It is important to be mindful that we don't always know what is going to be a trigger for someone.

It is time that we normalize sex, it is time that we have open communication about it so that we can help ourselves, others, and the younger generation coming up behind us.

Sex is not a dirty word. We need to be having these conversations so that we can take the stigma away from sex.

How we view sex and call each other names plays a huge factor in this stigma around sex.

The demeaning words no matter how much you mean them in a joking way can cause more harm than good.

There are also women out there who have sex with multiple partners because they damn just enjoy sex. It is not wrong if they are responsible with their own bodies. There are also women who get in bed with multiple partners because when they look in the mirror, they hate what they see. And the only way they feel seen is to have sex, or they do have a fear or experiencing loneliness.

There should be no judgment for people who have multiple partners, we should just hope that everybody's being safe.

Sex is healthy when we know that we are doing it for the right reasons.

Don't let anybody shame you. Don't let anybody judge you. Because you are doing what you need to do, to move through those emotions get healthy, mentally, and emotionally, and make choices that are conscious. When you and realize where is this coming from, it becomes a completely different ballgame.

When you are choosing to sleep with someone, my advice for you is to make sure that you are doing it for the reasons you want to do it. Not for experiences you've had in your past, not for fear, not for acceptance.

Sex is complicated and there is no reason to make it more complicated by beating yourself up for your choices. Excited to hear your thoughts on this episode.

A lot of people have a hard time with that when they have a lot of overactive masculine energy because they want to control, they want to see things pan out a certain way because that's their safety zone that makes them feel more secure.

Look at the ones you have already grown and the ones that you're already strong in. Because you need to know that in terms of knowing what direction you want to go in, or where you lean because these are things you may want to really keep. It's better to be authentic, which is more in line with divine energy.

In this episode of Self Love Legacy The Podcast, we are going head to head to know the difference between self-love and self-care.

What is self-love?

Self-love means loving yourself unapologetically through the good times and the bad, through the ups and the downs. Self-love is loving yourself unconditionally no matter what.

It is also allowing yourself to feel the emotions as they come up, to grieve, to forgive, to help yourself and or people.

Self-care is the daily actions that we do to help us achieve self-love. Example of self-care activities are relaxing bubble bath at the end of the day or going to your favorite museum to relax. Being out in nature and being just with yourself. Those are acts to help you get familiar with yourself.

Self-care are acts to remind that you should prioritize yourself to make sure that you are getting closer to self-love.

YOU CAN HAVE SELF-CARE WITHOUT HAVING SELF-LOVE by still:

Beating yourself up every day

Refusing to forgive yourself for mistakes

Being your worst critic in your head

On the other hand, YOU CAN HAVE SELF-LOVE AND SELF-CARE by:

If you are fully in the state of self-love and you are loving yourself unapologetically, you are naturally doing self-care maintenance to stay in a place of self-love.

Confusions are around the fact that if we love ourselves, we have to be okay and feel happy every single time. Absolutely not. Going through life in general means you are going to have negative emotions. It is okay to grieve and be angry and acknowledge that those emotions are healthy. It just means you are human.

Self-love is accepting that you are human. It is forgiving yourself for your shortcomings. It is wanting to learn and improve the relationship that you have with yourself and others around you. It is the self-awareness that really helps us stay in a beautiful state of self-love, where we can accept all sides of us and see all sides of us is beautiful and loving.
