“OMG! I can’t wait to eat this nutrition bar instead of real food!” — said no one ever. And, yet, here we are, still buying all sorts of meal replacement bars for all these years, dating back to when they first started in the 1950s. So this week, Kirk and Lindsey break out the bars, talking about best/worst brands, best/worst flavors, are bars even worth it, why we all get rope-a-doped into buying nutrition bars in the first place, and finally, debating whether all these newfangled bars are just candy bars in disguise.

Airport Food: The Worst Food at the Worst Price
If there is anything sadder than airplane food, well, we sure haven’t experienced it. And, yet, with each and every airport food moment, there is always a glimmer of hope that makes us truly believe that it’s all going to taste good in the end. (Spoiler: it doesn’t.) So this week, Kirk and Lindsey talk about the horror that is airport food and try to find constructive ways to solve it. (Spoiler: they don’t.) They also try to solve the “wilted lettuce on every airport sandwich” issue, argue if bringing leftover pizza to the airport is genius or bizarre, and play the “Airport Food Elimination Game” to decide once and for all which airport restaurant is the most tolerable.

One of the biggest — maybe only — benefits of living in Los Angeles is the proliferation of Trader Joe’s. They are…like…EVERYWHERE. And Kirk and Lindsey love the quirky store, so this week they are talking all things Trader Joe’s, including what’s great about it, what’s crap about it, what they obsess over, what drives them insane, best/worst products to buy, and the hell that is a Trader Joe’s parking lot.

Avocados are wonderful. But, let’s be honest: They are a fickle b**ch that you have to keep happy if you wanna get with it. So on this week’s episode the two talk everything glorious about “the alligator pear” (that’s a thing — look it up), discussing how avocados are truly high maintenance, how they are SOOOO L.A., best ways to eat them, weirdest ways to eat them, what’s the ideal way to cut them open, and the pure agony of a brown avocado.

Kirk and Lindsey have danced around the topic of ramen in previous episodes, but now it’s time for the two to dive into a big, steaming bowlful of the stuff. This week they debate types of ramen, best/worst ramen toppings, when did ramen turn all “hipster”, is instant ramen trash or a necessity, how loud do you slurp your ramen, and how important is it for your ramen to have an egg? (Spoiler: VERY.)

While Lindsey is in Mexico on a “pre-honeymoon” (Is that even a thing?), Kelly Wallace-Barnhill joins this week’s episode to talk about the joys (and rules, per Kirk) of late-night eating. They debate at what age should you stop late-night eating, at what time does late-night eating become early breakfast, best/worst diner foods, best/worst frozen foods, eating out vs. eating in, and how if you are eating healthy late at night then YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG.

Kirk has never tried an edible, and the last time he was high was 2008. So he decides it’s high time (See what we did there?) to dive into cannabis culture and how it relates to food. With Lindsey and friend-of-pod Kelly Wallace-Barnhill, the three head over to West Hollywood for an edible field trip! What kind of edible will they try? Will it even taste good? How high will they get? Will they get the munchies? And what happens when Kelly suddenly gets, “the sillies in my heart”?

Lindsey is back and, per her request, she’s asked to talk about…sausages? Yeah, sausages! Sausages rule. Why? Cause you can literally put them in anything. So this week, Kirk and Lindsey discuss different types of sausages, different flavors, why they’re WAY better than hot dogs, link vs. patty, are they better whole or cut up, and what dishes are the two exactly putting their sausages in. (Get your minds out of the gutter, folks.)

While Lindsey is out enjoying her best life (without Kirk), we invited back to the show our super-talented friend and multi-hyphenate, Jackie Brubaker! One of Jackie’s many talents is that of a life/relationship coach, so she and Kirk dive into the crazy world of dining and dating. The two debate best and worst foods to eat on a date, judging a date based on their food choices, how too nice of a restaurant is just too much pressure, sharing appetizers vs. sharing desserts, is a lunch date even a date, and then the two share their most horrible dinner dates ever!
