British food at times might get unfairly dunked on for not being very good, but with names like Bubble and Squeak, Nik Naks, Jam Roly Poly, Discos, Bangers and Mash, and (of course) Spotted Dick, it definitely wins for most enjoyable names to say. Of course, Kirk and Lindsey are total dumb-dumbs when it comes to British cuisine, so this week they’ve asked Kirk’s good friend (and bonafide Brit) Sze Wing Leong-Simpson to come on the show and school them on the fine art of English yummies, what’s tasty, what’s not, and are British food names really that funny? (Spotted Dick will never not be funny.)

Earlier this year, Kirk and Lindsey held the very first Food Fight Trivia Contest, inviting frequent guest (and Lindsey’s co-host on the hilarious podcast, ‘F*ck You, I’m Smarter’) Kelly Wallace-Barnhill on to the show to compete. (Kirk won.) So now the three are back at again with a second installment! (Kirk won the first one.) The competition gets even fiercer as Lindsey, Kelly, and Kirk (who won the first time) test their food knowledge on food topics ranging from bread and BBQ to veggies and wine, and more. Who will come out victorious? (Again, Kirk won the first time, in case that wasn’t clear.)

The FDA classifies gum as a food, so why not spend this week’s episode having pointless and unnecessary arguments about it? Kirk and Lindsey talk about how gum is much more important to you as a kid, how mints are better than gum, what’s the best Wrigley gum, Bubble Yum vs. Bubblicious vs. Hubba Bubba, was Fruit Stripe gum all that, and is Juicy Fruit the worst effing gum on the planet? Then Lindsey sees how long gum lasts before it loses its flavor and Kirk tries a gum that’s been around since 1884 that basically scars him for life.

We’ve all been to casual dining restaurant chains, but do we really like them? Really? That’s what Kirk and Lindsey will be discussing this week, as the two dig into the sameness of the restaurant chains, what to order, what definitely not to order, should you take a date to a chain restaurant as an adult, and are they sadder if they are attached to a mall? And then Kirk and Lindsey play the Elimination Game, taking out individual casual dining chains one by one until there is only a single chain restaurant left standing. (Teaser: Kirk’s first restaurant eliminated is a DOOZY and nearly pushes Lindsey over the edge.)

People don’t love tea as much as they should and, quite frankly, that’s just a damn shame. Cause tea is awesome…well…with some major caveats, of course. On this week’s episode, Kirk and Lindsey dive into tea vs. coffee, how much bottled iced teas suck, loose vs. bagged, iced vs. hot, how herbal teas are not even tea, is jasmine green tea the best tea ever, has anyone ever really had white tea, are afternoon tea times really worth it, and then Lindsey takes a tea test and fails MISERABLY.

We’ve done candy shows in the past, but we haven’t focused exclusively on the non-chocolate variety. And we’ve also never done it with such a very special guest like Abby Gardner, host of the awesome podcast, ‘We Have Notes.’ Abby is a straight-up candy freak who loves any and all candy including gumballs, Laffy Taffy, and, yes, even Circus Peanuts. And, yet, she doesn’t really care about chocolate. Who is this person? Kirk and Lindsey find out as they debate with Abby about Skittles, Lifesavers, Jolly Ranchers, jellybeans, Bottle Caps, Spree, grandma candies, and how Abby would even take a grape-flavored candy over a piece of chocolate. Again…WHO DOESN’T CARE ABOUT CHOCOLATE?

It’s coming up on that time of the year…WEDDING SEASON! (Okay, maybe that much excitement for wedding season is a smidge much.) But, tis the season, and since Lindsey is in the middle of planning her own wedding (yikes), she and Kirk decided to talk — wedding dinners. The two debate what they want and don’t want to see on a wedding menu, is the food at a wedding even that important, how much pleasing of the guests do you really need to do, and how weird or different can you get with a wedding dinner. And not only does Kirk reveal what food he had at his own wedding (20 years ago!), but he also helps Lindsey plan her upcoming wedding menu. What are the odds she takes his advice?

Kirk went on a family vacation to San Francisco, and while he ate ALL of the food in the city, he decided to take a little break and not record any of it. (We all make choices.) So instead, we've decided to flashback to nearly two years ago to the very first episode Kirk and Lindsey ever did. What did they debate? Sandwiches. Come see where the love and, more importantly, the fighting began!

Juice and smoothies are more than just drinks…they are a lifestyle. But should they be consumed with actual meals? That’s just one of the topics Kirk and Lindsey debate on this juice/smoothie episode, along with if juicing is really worth it, how awful grape juice is, which orange juice brand would you F, Marry, or Kill, are smoothies really just adult milkshakes, which fruit is the “flavor bully” in a smoothie, would either of them try a meat smoothie (yes, it’s a thing), and then Kirk tries to sell Lindsey on the concept of a salad smoothie. Will she go for it?

Kirk and Lindsey LOVE dessert…but do they love Asian desserts? That’s what they’re going to find out on this episode, as the two travel the San Gabriel Valley on an Asian dessert field trip to see if they can get behind grass jellies, red beans, taro roots, sweetened shaved ices, pudding buns, egg waffles, coconut jellies, and, of course, boba drinks. Yeah, it’s a lot of dessert eating for one episode, but they do it for the love of science. (Dessert is science, right?)
