  • Holiday Potluck Dinner and the Airing of Grievances w/Kelly Wallace-Barnhill

Hosts: Kirk Pynchon & Lindsey Gentile

    Producer: Kirk Pynchon

    Producer/Engineer: Andrew Price

Theme song by: Kirk “Dad Beats” Pynchon

It’s the holidays! And what better way to celebrate the season than overeating and yelling at each other! So Kirk, Kirk’s family, Lindsey, and regular guest (and Lindsey’s co-host on the hilarious podcast, F*ck You, I’m Smarter) Kelly Wallace-Barnhill, all get together to eat some yummy holiday-inspired food, debate favorite holiday songs, movies, traditions, discuss proper holiday potluck etiquette, generally insult each other, and then dig deep into why all Kelly wants for Christmas is a tongue cat brush so she can “lick” her cats. Ummm…happy holidays?

  • What’s the Deal With Paprika in Polish and Hungarian Food? w/Jackie Brubaker!

Hosts: Kirk Pynchon & Lindsey Gentile

    Producer: Kirk Pynchon

    Producer/Engineer: Andrew Price

Theme song by: Kirk “Dad Beats” Pynchon

With Lindsey off this week, regular guest and multi-hyphenate/triple threat Jackie Brubaker joins this episode of Food Fight! to discuss Hungarian and Polish food! And, shockingly, for an episode that doesn’t have Lindsey in it, there is a lot of weirdness in this one. Topics include: is there a more comforting food than a pierogi, why is there so much damn paprika in Hungarian and Polish food, the joy of eating (and saying) beef stroganoff, stuffed cabbage vs. stuffed peppers, would you eat raw minced meat topped with a raw egg (aka, steak tartare), would you eat sweet cherry soup if the world depended on it, the phallic shape of kielbasa, Jackie’s past life as a child in the 1940s, and Kirk eats the worst pickle in the history of pickles. Like we said…it’s a weird one.

  • Rice? Yeah…Rice is Nice

Hosts: Kirk Pynchon & Lindsey Gentile

    Producer: Kirk Pynchon

    Producer/Engineer: Andrew Price

Theme song by: Kirk “Dad Beats” Pynchon

If you think rice is boring, then you are doing rice WRONG. Kirk and Lindsey take this week’s episode to sing the praises of rice, the oldest known food that is still widely consumed today. They debate where rice falls in the pecking order of carbs, white rice vs. brown rice, Mexican vs. fried, does risotto really feel like rice, can sushi rice be eaten without sushi, which rice is sadder — pilaf or wild, and, for reasons unknown, the two spend much of the episode doing theatre tongue twisters like the theatre nerds that they are.

  • Which Fast Food Chicken Sandwich Doesn’t Suck? w/Theodore Pynchon

Hosts: Kirk Pynchon & Lindsey Gentile

    Producer: Kirk Pynchon

    Producer/Engineer: Andrew Price

Theme song by: Kirk “Dad Beats” Pynchon

Lindsey and Kirk’s schedules couldn’t match up this week, so for this very special episode Kirk’s son (and frequent guest host)Theodore is stepping in for Lindsey (he was their last choice). Not only that, but this week’s show was all his idea, as Kirk and Theo are talking fast food chicken sandwiches. (So if you hate this episode…blame Theo.) The two go on a fast food chicken sandwich tour, visiting (and eating…and judging) five chains known for their fried chicken sandwiches. Which one is the best, which one is the worst, how awful will they feel afterwards, and why does every fast food chicken sandwich need friggin’ mayo?

  • Thanksgiving…THE REMIX!!!

Hosts: Kirk Pynchon & Lindsey Gentile

    Producer: Kirk Pynchon

    Producer/Engineer: Andrew Price

Theme song by: Kirk “Dad Beats” Pynchon

It’s Thanksgiving time…the foodiest and fightingest time of the year! (Yes, we are saying those are actual words.) But rather than argue about traditional Thanksgiving foods (which they did last year - episode #37), Kirk and Lindsey have decided that this year they’ll debate the merits of the more bizarre Thanksgiving dishes, as well as odd Thanksgiving-flavored foods. So, they’re talking piecakens, Hot Cheetos turkey, frog eye salad (yes, it’s a thing), green bean casserole bites, Thanksgiving ice cream, Thanksgiving potato chips, Thanksgiving candy corn, and even Thanksgiving soda. Yeah, it gets weird, soooo…Happy Thanksgiving?

  • White Chocolate Ain’t Chocolate (But It’s Tasty AF)

Hosts: Kirk Pynchon & Lindsey Gentile

    Producer: Kirk Pynchon

    Producer/Engineer: Andrew Price

Theme song by: Kirk “Dad Beats” Pynchon

Description: When it comes to chocolate, Lindsey is a little on the snobby side. As for Kirk, well, let’s just say he’s…easy? So there are A LOT of hot takes from these two when it comes to talking about pure, unadulterated chocolate. They debate milk vs. white vs. dark, is mint chocolate underrated, is caramel chocolate overrated, how good is Dove chocolate, how crappy is Hershey, what’s the best fruit to cover with chocolate (hint: it’s not orange), and then Lindsey shares how psychedelic mushrooms and chocolate are really the best combo out there!

  • What The Hell Is Cardamom? w/Jackie Brubaker

Spices are confusing. What defines a spice? How do you use them? Which spice goes with which food? Honestly, Kirk and Lindsey have no idea, so they’ve brought back podcaster, author, home cooker, home baker, and all-around multi-hyphenate Jackie Brubaker to figure this whole spice thing out. The three talk about which spices they always use, ones they never use, how using too many spices is like you’re pretending to cook, why cumin is underrated, why paprika is dumb, and what the hell is cardamom and why is it so damn popular? Oh, and most importantly, all three declare which Spice Girl they would be. That’s the big takeaway here.

  • Kirk & Lindsey Get RAW

For this very “special” (aka, “ridiculous”) episode, Kirk and Lindsey went on a three-day raw food diet, where they ate nothing but raw fruits, raw vegetables, and raw nuts…for all of their meals…for 72 hours. NOTHING ELSE. Why? We’re not sure. But they did and they are here to talk about what it was like, what they ate, how they felt, was it worth it, what did they miss most, would they do it again, and just how much farting went on for those three days.

  • Filipino Food: Come For The Pork…Stay For More Pork!

As mentioned MANY times on the show, neither Kirk nor Lindsey are food experts. And nowhere is that more apparent than on this week’s episode, where they talk about Filipino food. When it comes to the food of the Philippines, Kirk is super basic and Lindsey…well…Lindsey tries. But that doesn’t mean that they don’t enjoy it, cause Filipino food is tasty AF. So Kirk and Lindsey take a dive (albeit a shallow one) into the underrated Asian cuisine, discussing why it’s so hard to find, what the deal is with banana ketchup, how lumpia is better than egg rolls, are Filipino desserts sweeter than Western desserts, the genius of garlic rice, is the fast food chain Jollibee really all that, and why won’t Lindsey ever order chicken adobo?

  • Sourdough Bread Is A Fickle B**ch w/Carlos Perez

While Lindsey is on vacation doing…Lindsey things…Kirk decides to have his old friend Carlos Perez (from the Peruvian episode) over to school Kirk on the art of making homemade sourdough bread. Full transparency: Carlos tried to teach Kirk the fine art of sourdough bread-making months ago, even going so far as to give him some of his precious mother dough, but Kirk f’ed it up so bad that he had to throw it away (which is an actual crime in the eyes of many). But this time Carlos is here to right the ship, and they not only actually make sourdough bread on the episode, they talk about the process, offer tips and hacks, do’s and don’ts, debate what should and shouldn’t go on a slice of sourdough bread, the proper way to cut it, and, of course, just go completely HAM on a freshly baked loaf.
