"We all have a legacy we receive and it's our responsibility to pass it on"

In this episode, James is joined by the Executive Director of the Roxbury YMCA of Greater Boston and an overseer for the Menino YMCA; Kathryn Saunders. Kathryn is a leader who is fiercely driven to helping the communities she has been entrusted with. Recently, she has been guiding the progress of a huge community effort to roll out vaccines to those in need in order to combat the new Omicron variant. 

However, this podcast is not about what has to be done today. It is about what has been done. Specifically, what has been done by one of history's most influential people; Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His legacy is celebrated in an event at the Roxbury YMCA that has been going on for more than a decade and Kathryn is very excited to invite you to join. In this episode, James is joined by Kevin Washington, the President and CEO of the YMCA of the USA. Kevin is a man whose life and stature is built on hard work and passion for the communities he loves and the people he represents. He was introduced to the YMCA through a youth program and has used his time inside the organization to do as much as he can to give back to as many people as he can. Although he plans to retire soon, his legacy will be remembered fondly at the Y.
