Force Toast: A Star Wars Happy Hour episodes

October 06Ep 160: Yappin’ Their Traps
In Episode 160 hosts Alyce and Laura are* Herbert the Pervert and he is us. Not in a pervy way, just in the way of whistling through our teeth when we talk and preferring cozy robes over clothing.
Alyce’s Movie Club Update: confusing Marvel movie cash-grab is confusing
The new Lucas Museum in Los Angeles is open for business! The museum had its big opening night party, so let’s discuss the weird theories the media and fans have drawn from this.
Reading between the lines: is Christopher Nolan directing a Star Wars movie starring Queen Latifah?
The epic conclusion to the Skywalker saga 42 years in the making was not, as it turns out, the conclusion? (Knight Edge Media)
Laura is spiraling down a Reylo conspiracy rabbit hole with this Episode X rumor
As Star Wars fans, we’re really getting thirsty for news, aren’t we? The latest “news” on Ahsoka Season 2 is that an extremely obvious plot point is going to be a plot point. Come on, y’all.
Suit up, ninja nerds. Sword fighting with lightsabers is just fencing - with style.
Prop Auction! Prauction, if you will. A rare choking hazard is up for sale on October 15.
Recap On Tap: Alyce isn’t quite finished with the second Reign of the Empire novel, Edge of the Abyss, but she shares more of her thoughts so far. There may be some mild spoilers, so if you wish to skip this review, skip 26:05 - 32:07.
You’ve Got Mail! An email from listener Emma on Star Wars Zero Company (no spoilers). If you’re like us, and video games aren’t your thing, Emma recommended this gameplay walkthrough video on YouTube. Thanks, Emma!!!

September 08Ep 159: The Lady Blacksmith
In Episode 159, hosts Alyce and Laura and a vending machine walk* into a bar, get busted and go Wayfinding:
A Gen Z Slang Segment may need to be an official segment on this show. We’re just learning so much!
To smut or not to smut?
Are you old Wayfinding or new Wayfinding, or a secret third way to use the word ‘Wayfinding’? Or, PLOT TWIST, are you Wayseeking?
We enjoyed learning about the new Lucas Museum of Narrative Art from this LA local news segment, even if we don’t get any of the local references.
The Mando movie hit Disney+ on Sept 2, along with a companion podcast and a new LEGO special.
Star Wars Zero Company’s got 99 problems and all of them are bugs. (Engadget via MSN)
We weirdly love hearing about random Star Wars prop auctions, but somehow we missed this one! It’s the end of an era for Phil Tippett’s stop-motion studio, but not good-bye. (via LA Times)
More Star Wars Celebration guests announced ahead of the April convention
One of these days LucasFilm is gonna finally realize that Alyce is full of million dollar ideas!
The AI bot some journalist used and didn’t proofread wants you to find the differences between 2 pictures. Hint: one is a movie poster and one looks like it was painted by a 9-year-old, so there are actually a lot of differences.

The Star Wars Gazebo at D23 gives us treats for being good, patient little fans

Starfighter deets and that clip we definitely didn’t watch

Mr. IMAX is psyched about Starfighter. Also why didn’t it occur to us that IMAX is a whole company with a CEO and everything? How cute!

A Star Wars movie we didn’t hear about by people we’ve not heard of got “cancelled” but not really, because was it ever really a thing? Ultimately it doesn’t matter, the internet is still gonna internet (Variety via Geekspin)

There are a lot of corrections. We’re not sorry though, our Caravan of Corrections gives us content during slow news cycles

Star Wars Visions: The Ninth Jedi series dropped all episodes on August 5. Have you watched? Tell us what you think!

D23 is happening next weekend. There are a few panels we’re hoping someone will livestream or livetwe-- uh, what is the Bluesky equivalent of livetweeting?

A Welsh dub of Star Wars: A New Hope? FINALLY!

Never stop never stopping making fun of the fact that the Ahsoka show had the balls to go 4 years in between seasons

“Remember Furbies? I miss those little guys” -said no one ever. But Disney Parks won’t let that stop them from breeding these unholy Furby-Ewok hybrids.

Bae (aka Ewan McGregor) and Anne Hathaway are out here promoting their new non-Jurassic-Park dinosaur movie, but the real news is Bae still wants to do more Obi-Wan.

The Mando movie won the week on Video on Demand, but that victory is equivalent to being the best shot in a platoon of stormtroopers. But this dude claiming to be the CEO of Disney says a win is a win.

Starfighter keeps on Starfighting, this time in the MCU.

“I can’t wait to watch Robot Chicken at the Lucas Museum,” said someone who only kinda browsed this article.

In today’s “news” that’s not really news, but more of an observation: the next Star Wars movie won’t have the same cast as past Star Wars movies. If you can believe it. Wow. (via Screenrant)

Star Wars: Visions is coming back soon to confuse all the normies about whether or not it’s canon (via The Direct)

What even is this Caravan of Corrections about, anyway? Who remembers anything from May?

Make Lyte a thing again

Maul tried to manifest Anakin. Fun fact: If Maul and Anakin were a couple, their lil couple name would be Manakin.

Maximize shareholder value on your own time and give us Ahsoka season 2 NOW, dammit!

Coming not-that-soon to a streaming service near you, more Ezra! (via Bespin Bulletin)

If you, like us, missed the LFL/ILM TED Talk on AI last year, and are curious to see for yourself after Laura attempts to summarize it, it’s on YouTube here.

Mozzarella Sticks Strike Back! During Mando, nonetheless!

FINALLY we return to our Recap on Tap segment with The Mandalorian and Grogu! We discuss our thoughts on the film, story, characters, the intended audience and more.

Still kinda bitter about the Ahsoka novel retcon. Still not our favorite move, Star Wars.

May 07Bonus: Maul - Shadow Lord eps 7 & 8

Couldn’t miss a ride on the Caravan of Corrections, even in a bonus

Po-po pee pee? Po po plaza?

We’re Recapping on Tapping Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord season 1, episodes 7 and 8. The final trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu! (YouTube)

If you don’t want to watch the full 37-min video of Jon Favreau’s appearance at CinemaCon, SWNN has a good breakdown here.

Are you going to the May The Fourth preview screenings of Mando/Grogu? If so, you’re lucky because tickets went fast!

If you’re into model making, Phil Tippett’s creature shop, film effects and/or Star Wars ships, you’ll probably enjoy this behind the scenes look at The Mandalorian and Grogu film with Adam Savage and Jon Favreau.

Grain of Salt: there’s a rumor swirling about a new 2D animated Star Wars series

From “This is the Way” to “Have It Your Way”! Burger King’s got The Mandalorian and Grogu stuff for kids and adults.

Millennium Falcon meets Mando? Smuggler’s Run is going to somehow incorporate The Mandalorian and Grogu? We don’t get it, so hopefully more to come? (via SWNN)

BooshkeeDO you even have an elbow?

Recap on Tap - with SPOILERS! Maul - Shadow Lord episodes 3-6 features the galaxy’s Ugliest Lieutenant, Rook harshing on Maul’s vibe at every turn, Looti Tooti, The Fart before he became a fart (presumably) and Two Boots providing no reassurance whatsoever in any situation

Laura gets mad - no, stays mad - at how expensive things are

Come for Happy Hour, stay for Alyce’s young Boba Fett impression

We made a Sally Ride error and every woman in STEM that left an indelible mark on the world rolled over in their grave… including Sally Ride, probably.

The Mandalorian and Grogu is coming out in May, a few weeks after May the Fourth. You’d think that would be a good marketing tie in, yeah? Nope, Star Wars Day is all about Return of the Jedi this year for some reason.

Maul about Maul! He’s everywhere! In the news! On Disney+! Probably other places! Maul - Shadow Lord is getting a second season. Plus, Filoni talks Maul with Esquire. Protip: there’s a great TLDR on SWNN.

Jon Favreau will be at CinemaCon to get everyone hyped about the upcoming Mando movie (via Deadline)

Grogu is the real star of this filmmaker roundtable

Ben There, Done That! (patting ourselves on the back for that one) Stephen Soderbergh reacts to Lucasfilm’s pass on his Ben Solo-centric film (BKMAG via Nerdist)

In book news, Star Wars’ new horror offering and, on the opposite end, an adult coloring book! Multitudes, Star Wars contains, hmmm?

LEGO Smart Bricks continue to mystify the masses. Now Mark Hamill weighs in.

We’re back with Recap on Tap! Maul - Shadow Lord is officially here and we’re diving into episodes 1 and 2 with a SPOILER discussion on all the old and new faces, cute lil guys and insane bad-@ssery abound!
