Woodland Management Plan
Trees will be coming down / being felled, in winter 2022
Here Chris Hunter a ranger in National Trust Formby explains the woodland plan for Formby 2022.
Formby has been designated a ‘Triple SI’ - what is that it’s an area of Scientific Interest.
Why has Formby been awarded the Triple SI? Because of Formby’s Dune System. The sand dunes.
Because of this Triple SI
National Trust need approval to fell any trees in Formby Pinewoods. Approval has to come from Natural England and the Forestry Commission. The plans are all pulled together in the National Trust Woodland Management Plan.
Part of that plan is informing local communities of the plans. The National Trust completed this consultation in Formby Library in 2021.
There will be talks and walks in August September 2022 - no need to book - just keep a look out for dates and turn up - all free .
