I made a comment to my partner yesterday that I'm actually useless for 6 months of the year. I don't work well in Summer, and I don't work well in Winter. Too much or too little daylight doesn't work for me, clock changes don't work for me, extreme temperatures don't work for me.
So we laughed, because if I think about it, I'm only really fully functional during Spring and Autumn, and even then I still have days, and weeks where I need complete and utter rest.
So in the usual uncut, unscripted and unedited conversation, this week I'm talking about why I'm only good for about six months of the years, how understanding AND creating change based on your own rhythms and cycles could be a huge benefit, and why it's ok to give yourself the permission for whatever you need, whenever you need it.
This is FRAZZLED. Enjoy.
See you again next Tuesday at 7am.

There's a type of coach that's currently making worse, and it's not because they can't coach.
In this episode of FRAZZLED I'm talking about coaches who are pricing low, being inauthentic and desperate in their messaging, and coming across as FRAZZLED in everything they do, that even if they attract clients, they can't help clients.
Your own state, and your feelings of safety will end up in the coaching room with you. All the speed, and the impatience and the pace and the wanting quick results and quick money and fast paths to success, are adding to burnout, not stopping it.
Are you a coach that's making burnout worse or are you the honest, real and grounded coach that your clients want and need?
I'm talking about all of this here.
Happy listening, Kelly

Is the search for purpose, all its cracked up to be, or has Simon Sinek done the dirty on us and completely and utterly duped us?
In this episode of FRAZZLED I talk about the quest for why, the search for our purpose, and ask whether this is leaving us all feeling, quite bloody frazzled!
Are we wasting time, energy, and maybe even money and attention on things that are just either impossible, feel completely out of reach, or are we on a wild goose chase?
Is the search for why draining us, when instead, living in today could be all we need?
Take a listen.
See you again same time and same place, next week at 7am.

I believe that coaches can end burnout, but only when they truly know burnout. And right now, a lot of coaches think they know burnout, but they don't.
In this episode of FRAZZLED I'm talking about coaching:
Coaches at burnout
Why we need all coaches to be burnout-informed
Why coaches hold such a unique position
Why solution focused coaching can do more harm than good
And why whoever you're coaching, you need to assume that burnout is lurking.
Grab your cuppa, sit back and give it a listen.
I'll be back with you again same time next week for another episode of FRAZZLED

We're all being told the same thing aren't we, stand out, be bold, speak up, be more colourful, show up, build your personal brand.
But what if the 'experts' use your 'uniqueness' to build their own brand?
And what if, in the quest to show up more, and stand out, we all end up looking the same?
In this episode I explore why 'be unique' is often the worst advice you can give, especially to someone who is exhausted, and vulnerable as a result of burnout, and why we need to learn to trust ourselves more, and our intuition, if we really want to show the world just how unique we are, and get to where we want to be, without being so bloody exhausted.

In this episode of FRAZZLED, I'm talking about why I'm advocating therapy over coaching right now, and why as a coach, that makes me feel uncomfortable.
I've worked with coaches in some form for the last 25 years, and yes, I got sucked into 'coaches always need coaches' narrative.
I've spent, and wasted, tens of thousands on my own coaches over the last 13 years since I left my in-house role, and some of them, I'd never work with ever again. Some I got no value from at all, some of them I ended up being the coach, and some of them were not coaches at all.
I've been working with a therapist for the last year, it's given me my life back, and right now, with the world of work as it is, and stress, chronic stress, chronic illness and burnout rising, I wouldn't trust a lot of coaches right now to be able to coach in a way that's needed.
Great coaching and great coaches, are amazing!
Coaching is also designed for clients with capacity, not those on the brink of, or coming through burnout. And yet I know that can change. And I know it, because the coaches I've trained are truly making a difference with and for their clients.
If coaching isn't burnout-informed, I'm not recommending it.

I am so done with algorithms, and ads, and superficial, attention stealing, hooks, content that adds no value, toxic comments, and anything that adds no value.
So over the last couple of weeks I've quit even more stuff, unfollowed even more people, unsubscribed from more subscriptions and emails and services and people, and with the time I'm saving, I'm doing much more incredible stuff that is actually adding value to my life.
This week I'm talking about why I deleted my TikTok account, why I'd delete my Instagram if I could, and what I want from the content I'm consuming from now on.

It's been two weeks since I moved into 'the shed' and it's already making a massive difference to my energy, my clarity and my work.
I didn't realise how much I was making do and compromising in my workspace in the house, until I left it. I didn't realise how much being actually in the garden, would make to my mood, until it began to shift. And I didn't realise how much the actual separation between home and work would make to how I feel.
I'm not advocating everyone goes back to the office, there's no way you'd back and working in an office and around people every day ever again. But do you know how much your work space is giving or stealing your energy?
I didn't, until now!

Leaving corporate and starting your own business is hard.
Add burnout into the mix, and leaving corporate to start a business with your confidence at rock bottom, your decision making abilities having left you, and the fear of reaching burnout again meaning that you don't want to take as many risks or push yourself too hard, then starting your own business can feel like trying to walk a tightrope with one broken leg and both hands tied behind your back.
The good news is that it can be done, and like me you can find yourself completely and utterly unemployable and loving what you're building and creating - but, the promises of this business building being easy, glamorous, and frameworks that promise you overnight success, don't help - especially if your burnout isn't being factored in your business growth, your strategy, your energy levels, and everything else that burnout impacts in your life.
I'm talking about this, and more, in this week's episode of FRAZZLED.
And the quiz I mention can be found here.
Same time next week.

OMG - I CANNOT even begin to tell you how excited I am for this episode, although thankfully, I do tell you how excited I am in this episode, or it's pretty pointless!!
But, yes, FRAZZLED is back, so let's talk about why.
Let's see how many times I can frustrate myself by using the word 'journey', and lets see if this is going to be, once again, a totally unedited, unscripted, and almost possibly, slightly unhinged podcast, now that I'm back, with the real purpose of the show, and not some 'advice' I was given by a coach trying to box me in.
So you fabulous podsquad - let's get back to where we blong shall we?
Welcome back to FRAZZLED, with me, your host, Kelly Swingler.
