Monique Perkins is a warrior Lion Queen.  Her life demonstrates resilience, power, love and the strength to overcome.  Surviving a lifetime of sexual abuse that started at 7 years old and continued through her marriage, she was able to break through by the power of God and a loving Spiritual Father and Mother.

Desirae King is a motivational speaker, author, teacher, life coach, and mentor.  Her life story reads like a blockbuster movie - full of abandonment and heartache.  It is the type of drama that could only be experienced from growing up on the unforgiving streets of Cleveland, Ohio.  Out of her own personal pain a dynamic spiritual awakening was born, and Desirae realized her God-given gift of encouraging captivated audiences.  Her oratory skills have a transformational effect and she brings all of that energy to this interview.

She tells the story of her life as a little girl who learned at an early age what it feels like to be forgotten and abused but later grows up to be inspire many with her talks.  

In this episode, she reads an excerpt of her book "Dysfunction is the New Normal" dramatically detailing the events surrounding her sexual assault.  She later shares how 20 years had passed since the incident and the offender was still taking up residence in her head.  She exclaims that you have to F these people and its not the word you think.  Her word is forgiveness.

She overcame this dark experience in her life by forgiving her offender because she said realized that she 'kept giving him the happiness and joy she deserved'.  Along her journey of healing she also questioned God and He responded with something so powerful that it gave her the strength to do what she does today.

Sometimes when people think of prayer, they think it’s way more than it has to be.  They think it is this big elaborate speech in a particular place at a particular time. Not necessarily.   Prayer is as simple as having a conversation with God.  Its purpose is to develop a relationship with Him.  I also share a method of prayer that will help you to pray when you don't have the words to do so.

Even if you mentally assent to the fact that “yes” submission is a good thing and began to think about the word submission you may discover that submission is a form of protection.  You submit to all kinds of things all day every day.

Over the years I’ve been fascinated with that word.  I’ve studied it.  I’ve read books about it.  I’ve listened to teachings and tapes about it.  

Still, I didn’t do it.

I continue my series talking about my foundational principle of P.R.E.S.S. which is a message impressed upon me from God.  P.R.E.S.S. stands for perseverance, resilience, endurance, submission and supplication.  It is a call to action and a call for action when you are about to snap or give up, but you know you are destined to move forward.

I am specifically talking about endurance as it relates to the ride or die culture of today's society.  I explore when to endure and when not to endure.
