FREEKYRAD

An exciting episode to cover another blockbuster sequel that really set the standard for action films in the 80s and its effects still resonate today. Rambo is much like Rocky, an iconic character and we get deep into this film and explore the emotional depths that this film explores whilst soaked in bullets and high testosterone action that appealed to any GI Joe loving kid of the 80s. Some fun comic book talk and all the usual fun. Enjoy!

It’s been a long time coming, but we finally did it. A Star Wars episode. But not just any episode. We tackled “Empire Strikes Back”(1980). Hailed by many as the greatest in the series, and one of the greatest sequels ever made. We even brought the Chad back to offer some American insight as a kid that grew up when the “Empire” mania exploded. That’s right, the one and only Jedi master of SFX himself, Chad Atkinson joins us once again and this episode is a banger!

HUGE EPISODE!!! This week, we discuss spoilers in comics(not cool), the glamorous mess that is the latest version of Nosferatu…Dracula…Nosferatu. The new Superman trailer!! Then, it’s the return of the Chad!!! Acclaimed SFX guy Chad Atkinson joins us for a fun chat about one of the many cool movies he’s worked on. This time it’s the 1999 action packed “DEEP BLUE SEA”. What a flick!!! We tease some other cool stuff for future episodes but let’s take a moment to appreciate the greatest end credits song of all by LL COOL J(Todd apparently). Enjoy!!

Hospitals, dread, no shower. Jake had an experience no one wishes for. This is an account of that and how you know who your true friends are.

This is an episode we’ve been excited to cover for sometime, as we dive back into the Predator franchise and discuss one of the best sequels ever-PREDATOR 2(1990). A near perfect film with such a killer cast and score, and some of the absolute best special effects to this day. We are joined on this episode by one of the biggest Predator fans, Emily Newton. She’s better known to all as Ozzy Huntress on IG for her phenomenal Predator cosplay and her passion for the franchise. We discuss the sequel, as well as Emily’s journey as a fan, favourite film in the series and we each take turns on who our dream battle with the Predator would be. Tell your mates and enjoy the show!

A great episode for any indie creators out there, as we discuss convention life, creating comics and film and the hurdles faced. As well, always be a good c*%t. This weeks movie is a long overdue dive into the 1985 howling sensation that is ‘TEEN WOLF’, starring the one and only Michael J Fox. We had a great time chatting this and a good excuse to rewatch a gem from the 80s.

A little bit late and we apologise, but a new episode is always a good time, and we do exactly that, as Jake and Jesse catch up and compare nots on the recent cyclone event, thefts at Jake’s place, that crazy Elon guy, and a good chat about new comics and what’s on their reading slab, as well as Daredevil:Born Again and the mighty Batm…ahem, Reacher. All the fun and shit talk you can expect right here, right now. Enjoy!

Toilets and the importance of a clean ass, Overpriced Goth stores, Brisbane nostalgia! And that’s just the start. Comic book reads that Segway is back in the saddle of movie discussions. We kick off the new season with the 1985 action classic and quite possibly, least well known Arnie flick….COMMANDO!!!

More cheesy one liners than imaginable, over the top action and one of the best Arnie entrances in a film ever!!! Enjoy this one cause we sure as hell did!

It’s FREEKYRAD TIME!!!!

All the fun continues as we celebrate Xmas films and the festive season…madness before we dive bomb into a discussion of the James Gunn “Superman” trailer and everything around it as well as our hopes and thoughts.

A deep catchup on comic reads and the such and just a good fun chat for you to enjoy as we settle into the new platform. Enjoy!
