In this very RAD episode, we discuss the new X-Men 97 cartoon series that is brilliant and we share some fond memories, before chatting lots of Rad stuff and the underrated 90s Hard Rock band, Hardline, that segues nicely into this weeks movie “RAPID FIRE”(1992), starring the legendary Brandon Lee, in his breakout Hollywood action role. Included are an unforgettable cast and of course Hardline in the soundtrack which is rad asf, as the singer tells me Brandon was a fan(yes I spoke briefly to Johnny Gioeli, and we will be doing a follow up interview for the show). BIG EPISODE and we unpack a lot before we get into our final episode of our Romero-thon that is the “Dead” series. First off, Jake teases his elation of the X-Men 97’ cartoon series, before unleashing on the trailer for the upcoming Crow reboot. It’s a hot topic right now and we debate its relevance and service to the legacy. We also spring joy over the terrifying trailer for Alien: Romulus, that delivers just enough to bring back that loving feeling for one of our favourite franchises. We also discuss comics like the collected reissue of Faust(one of the best 90s Horror comics ever!), and express our theories of Marvels new “Blood Hunt” series. And then FINALLY, we close with the final instalment of the late great George Romero’s beloved “Dead” series with “Survival of the Dead”(2009). Is it the grand finale we hoped for or is it the vision of Romero that deserved more studio support as we discuss the enjoyment of the movie before closing our episode with and interesting topic of thought related to great visionaries like Romero and John Carpenter. We then continue our Romero-thon into the ‘Dead’ series with the “Diary of the Dead”(2007). Another triumph of social commentary and as we discuss, a somewhat overlooked film in the series. Enjoy!

Action packed episode!!! We wish Trent and co a HAPPY RAD BIRTHDAY to one of our favourite albums, and unpack some great memories of a magical time. But we get all kinds of RAD as we dive into a Cannon Films classic and a film that really set the standard “AMERICAN NINJA”. This week on the FREEKY FRIDAY show, we are joined once again by SFX wizard and good mate, Chad Atkinson. “Land of the Dead”(2005) is hands down George Romero’s action packed entry in his Dead series and Chad worked on this one!! So, it was only fitting to get the man back on to share some tales and insights on working on some of the amazing gore and zombies alongside Mr Romero and Greg Nicotero(The Walking Dead), as well as the master Tom Savini. So many cool stories and insights into what makes a zombie film like this blow our minds.

On this weeks episode, we pay tribute to the legend of Carl Weathers, with one of the most underrated and highly RAD action films, ACTION JACKSON. For whatever reason, this film was stacked against heavy box office competition and we feel didn’t get the love it deserves. We reminisce on lots of rad related memories of the glory days also as well as a JON BON JOVI action figure??? Tune and get RAD with us.

The third entry to the Romero “Dead” series sees us take a different kind of turn with an enjoyable and interesting story development in the series, whilst not quite as memorable as the previous two. However! Tom Savini provides the gore and practical FX that takes this film to a whole new level of genius. We also chat Bon Jovi and that new Exorcist film that Jake hated a lot. Enjoy!
